Setup and Installation

The SIMBAILAI video intercom system is designed for easy, wireless installation. No complicated wiring is required between the outdoor doorbell unit and the indoor monitor.

1. Outdoor Doorbell Unit Installation

Choose a suitable location for the outdoor doorbell unit, typically near your main entrance. Ensure the area provides a clear view and is within effective wireless range of the indoor monitor.

  1. Method 1: Screw Installation
    Secure the mounting bracket to the wall using the provided screws. Then, attach the doorbell unit to the bracket.
  2. Method 2: 3M Adhesive Installation
    Clean the mounting surface thoroughly. Apply the 3M adhesive to the back of the doorbell unit and firmly press it onto the desired location.

Important Note: Aluminum doors and certain Wi-Fi interference sources may reduce the effective operating distance between the two devices. Test the signal strength before final installation.

2. Indoor Monitor Setup

Place the indoor monitor in a convenient location within your home. The indoor unit requires connection to a power adapter for continuous operation.

The indoor unit has an antenna that can be activated to improve signal reception. Ensure it is extended for optimal performance.

3. Initial Power-Up and Pairing

Once both units are installed, power on the indoor monitor. The system should automatically attempt to pair the outdoor doorbell unit with the indoor monitor. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup.

Operating Instructions

1. Answering a Call

When a visitor presses the doorbell, both the indoor monitor and your mobile phone (via the Tuya Smart APP) will receive a notification. You can answer the call from either device.

  • From the Indoor Monitor: Tap the "Answer" button on the 7-inch touch screen to initiate a real-time video dialogue with the visitor.
  • From the Tuya Smart APP: Open the app on your smartphone. You will receive a video notification. Tap to answer and engage in a remote video dialogue.

2. Remote Unlocking

If your system is connected to a compatible electronic lock, you can remotely unlock your door through the Tuya Smart APP during a video call.

3. Motion Detection (PIR)

The outdoor doorbell unit features a 160° wide-angle camera with PIR motion detection. When motion is detected, the system can automatically capture images or record video.

Maintenance

1. Battery Management

The outdoor doorbell unit is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, providing a standby time of up to 6 months. The indoor unit requires continuous power via its adapter.
