4. Initial Setup

Follow these steps to set up your water filter pitcher for first use:

1. Unpack the Pitcher: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the filter cartridge and USB-C cable are present.

2. Charge the Battery: Before first use, fully charge the built-in battery using the provided USB-C cable. Connect the cable to the charging port on the pitcher and a suitable USB power adapter (not included). A full charge can last up to 30 days.
3. Prepare the Filter: Remove the filter from its protective packaging. Rinse the filter under cold tap water for 1 minute to remove any loose carbon dust.
4. Install the Filter: Insert the prepared filter cartridge firmly into the designated slot within the pitcher. Ensure it is securely seated to prevent leaks and ensure proper filtration.
5. Initial Fill and Flush: Fill the pitcher with tap water. Dispense the first two full pitchers of water and discard them. This flushes any remaining carbon dust from the filter and primes it for use.

5. Operating Instructions

Using your PHILIPS GoZero Instant Water Filter Pitcher is straightforward:

1. Fill the Pitcher: Open the flip-top lid and fill the pitcher with cold tap water. The pitcher has a 12-cup capacity, reducing the frequency of refills.
2. Dispense Water: To dispense filtered water, double-click the dispense button located on the top of the pitcher. This double-click mechanism is a safety feature designed to prevent accidental spills.

3. Instant Filtration: The Micro X-Clean Instant filter provides rapid filtration, delivering water up to four times faster than traditional filter pitchers.
4. Battery Indicator: The indicator light on the dispense button will show the battery status. Recharge when the light indicates low battery.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Filter Replacement

The pitcher features a usage-based filter lifetime indicator that monitors the actual filtration volume and usage period. This ensures optimal filtration performance.

• One filter cartridge lasts for approximately 60 gallons (227 liters) of water, or about 30 days of typical use.
• When the indicator signals it's time for a replacement, remove the old filter and dispose of it.
• Install a new PHILIPS AWP231 Micro X-Clean Instant filter cartridge following the steps in Section 4.

6.2 Cleaning

• The pitcher body and lid can be hand-washed with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• Do not wash the electronic components (top part with dispense button and charging port) in a dishwasher or immerse them in water. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
• Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling.

6.3 Battery Charging

• Recharge the built-in battery using the provided Type-C USB cable.
• A full charge provides power for up to 30 days of filtration.
