Setup and Assembly Instructions
This item comes in multiple packages and may not arrive simultaneously. Please ensure all packages are received before starting assembly. Assembly requires two people and can be time-consuming. Allocate sufficient time for completion.
Step 1: Unpack and Organize Parts
Unpack all components slowly. Each piece has a label sticker (e.g., A1, A2, E7, E8). Organize them in order to simplify the process.
Step 2: Review Instructions and Fasteners
Study the pictographic diagrams carefully before each step. Pay close attention to the orientation of pre-drilled holes, especially for initial assembly steps.
Cross-reference all fasteners. Use a ruler with millimeter markings to confirm you are using the correct bolt or screw.
Step 3: Addressing Potential Missing Holes
You may ignore the peg hole in piece B5. You might need to drill top holes in the two A8 pieces when you reach step 8, if they are not pre-drilled.
Step 4: Attaching Front Handles
It may be easier to attach the front handles at a later stage (e.g., step 25), rather than an earlier step (e.g., step 13). This allows the panel to lay flat on the floor while attaching the mattress frame.
Step 5: Installing Pistons/Struts
The bed needs to be in the closed position to attach the pistons to their brackets. If the pistons appear too long (approximately 1/4 inch), and you cannot compress them to fit, try removing the feet of the bed (if installed early). This allows the bed to rotate slightly further into the "closed" position, providing the necessary clearance. Re-attach the feet after the pistons are secured.

Step 6: Wall Mounting
The dual-mount wall bed mechanism attaches to both the floor and the wall for maximum stability and durability. This is a critical step for safety and proper function. Ensure the bed is securely anchored to a wall stud.
Operating Your Murphy Bed
To Open the Bed:
Simply pull on the handles located on the front of the cabinet and gently lower the bed frame until the support leg rests firmly on the floor. Ensure the area is clear before lowering.
To Close the Bed:
Lift the bed frame, guiding it smoothly back into the cabinet. The dual piston system assists in this movement. Ensure the bed is fully retracted and secured in the cabinet position.

Maintenance
- Regularly inspect all fasteners and connections to ensure they remain tight. Tighten as necessary to maintain structural integrity.
- Keep the area around the bed mechanism clear of obstructions to ensure smooth operation.
- Clean the furniture finish with a dry cloth only. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the surface.
Troubleshooting
- Issue: Bed does not close or open smoothly.
Ensure the dual piston system is correctly installed and functioning. Refer to assembly step 5 regarding piston installation. Check for any obstructions in the mechanism or around the bed frame. - Issue: Bed feels unstable or rotates when open.
Verify that the bed is securely bolted to the wall as per assembly instructions. This is essential for stability and safety. - Issue: Parts missing or damaged upon arrival.
