Setup

1. Battery Installation

The thermometer requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment cover located at the bottom of the device. Insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-) inside the compartment. Close the cover securely.

2. Power On/Off

Press the measurement button (usually indicated by a thermometer icon) to turn the device on. The display will light up and show the last reading or enter standby mode. The device will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

Operating Instructions

1. Forehead Mode Measurement

Ensure the protective cap is on the thermometer. Point the thermometer at the center of the forehead, approximately 1-3 cm away. Press and release the measurement button. The temperature will be displayed within 1 second. The backlight color will indicate the temperature status (Green: Normal, Orange: Slight fever, Red: High fever).

2. Ear Mode Measurement

Carefully remove the protective cap from the thermometer to expose the ear probe. Gently insert the probe into the ear canal. Press and release the measurement button. The temperature will be displayed within 1 second. The backlight color will indicate the temperature status.

3. Object Mode Measurement

With the protective cap on, press the 'Mode' button (often indicated by a coffee cup or similar icon) to switch to object mode. Point the thermometer at the object whose temperature you wish to measure (e.g., milk, bathwater). Press and release the measurement button. The temperature will be displayed.

4. Unit Switching (°C/°F)

While the device is off, press and hold the measurement button for a few seconds until the unit changes from Celsius (°C) to Fahrenheit (°F) or vice versa. Release the button to set the desired unit.

5. Memory Recall

When the device is off, press the 'Memory/Silent' button (often indicated by an 'M' or speaker icon) to cycle through the last 32 temperature readings.

6. Mute/Unmute Function

When the device is powered on, press and hold the 'Memory/Silent' button to enable or disable the beep sound. This is useful for quiet environments or when measuring temperature during sleep.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the thermometer body with a soft, dry cloth. For the probe, use an alcohol swab or a cotton swab moistened with alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol is recommended). Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid.
  • Storage: Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it out of reach of children.

Troubleshooting

    • Allow the thermometer to acclimate to room temperature for 30 minutes if it has been in a significantly different environment.
    • Avoid taking measurements immediately after strenuous activity, bathing, or eating/drinking.
