4. Product Overview
The SMTAV PTZ Camera is a versatile device offering multiple connectivity options and high-definition video output. It features a 30X optical zoom lens and supports various control methods.

4.1 Rear Panel Interfaces
The rear panel provides all necessary ports for power, video output, audio input, and control.

- LAN (Ethernet): For IP streaming, PoE power, and IP control.
- HDMI: High-Definition Multimedia Interface for video output.

5. Setup
5.1 Physical Installation
The camera can be placed on a flat surface or mounted using the included wall mount bracket. Ensure the mounting location is stable and can support the camera's weight.
5.2 Powering the Camera
Connect the provided DC12V power adapter to the camera's DC12V port and plug it into a power outlet. Alternatively, if using a PoE-enabled network switch, connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port for both power and data.
5.3 Video and Audio Connections
- HDMI Output: Connect an HDMI cable from the camera's HDMI port to a display or video switcher.
- 3G-SDI Output: Connect a 3G-SDI cable from the camera's 3G-SDI port to a professional video switcher or recorder.
- USB Output: Connect a USB cable from the camera's USB port to a computer for use with video conferencing software (e.g., Zoom, Skype) or streaming software (e.g., OBS, vMix).
- IP Streaming: Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port. The camera supports TCP/IP, HTTP, RTSP, RTMP, Onvif, DHCP, and multicast protocols for direct live streaming to platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
- Audio Input: Connect an external microphone or audio source to the 3.5mm LINE-IN port. Audio can be embedded into HDMI and IP streams.

5.4 Network Configuration
For IP streaming and control, the camera requires network configuration. By default, the camera may obtain an IP address via DHCP. You can access the camera's web interface by entering its IP address into a web browser to configure network settings, including static IP, streaming protocols, and other advanced features.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Pan, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ) Control
The camera can be controlled using the included IR remote, an IP PTZ camera controller, or via its web interface. The camera supports pan (horizontal), tilt (vertical), and zoom adjustments.

- Pan: Rotate the camera horizontally up to ±170 degrees.
- Tilt: Adjust the camera vertically from -30 to +90 degrees.
- Zoom: Utilize the 30X optical zoom for detailed close-ups or wide shots.
6.2 Preset Management
The camera allows you to save and recall specific camera positions (pan, tilt, zoom, focus) as presets. This is useful for quickly switching between different shots during a live event.
- Saving a Preset: Position the camera as desired, then press the 'PRESET' button on the remote followed by a number (0-9).
- Recalling a Preset: Press the desired number (0-9) on the remote.
6.3 Live Streaming
The SMTAV PTZ Camera is optimized for live streaming to various platforms and software.

- Direct IP Streaming: Configure RTMP or RTSP settings via the camera's web interface to stream directly to platforms like YouTube or Facebook Live.
- Software Integration: Use the USB output or IP stream with software such as vMix, OBS, or Wirecast for multi-camera production and advanced streaming features.
6.4 Image Quality and Encoding
The camera delivers Full HD 1080P resolution at up to 60 frames per second (fps). It supports H.264/H.265 encoding for efficient bandwidth usage.
- Resolution Options: 1080p-60/50/30/25, 1080i-60/50, and 720p-60/50/30/25.
- Encoding: H.264 and H.265 for smoother video with lower bandwidth requirements.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the SMTAV website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the camera in a dry, dust-free environment.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the power outlet is functional. If using PoE, verify the Ethernet cable and switch are working correctly.
- No Video Output: Check all video cable connections (HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB). Ensure the correct input is selected on your display or switcher. Verify network connectivity for IP streams.
- Camera Freezing/Losing IP Connection: This can sometimes occur with certain NDI configurations. Ensure NDI protocols are correctly activated if you intend to use them. Contact customer support if the issue persists after checking network settings and connections.
- Poor Image Quality/Color Issues: Check lighting conditions. Adjust white balance and other image settings via the camera's OSD menu or web interface. Ensure the lens is clean.
- Control Issues: Verify the remote control batteries. Ensure line of sight for IR remote. Check serial cable connections and control protocol settings (RS232/422/485). For IP control, confirm network connectivity and IP address.
