Setup Instructions
Installation on a Standard Duplex Outlet
- Ensure the wall outlet is properly grounded and in good working condition.
- Align the Addtam Surge Protector with the existing wall outlet, ensuring the prongs match the receptacles.
- Insert the prongs of the surge protector into the top receptacle of the wall outlet.
- Secure the surge protector by inserting the provided mounting screw into the center hole and tightening it clockwise until snug. Do not overtighten. The plastic prong on the back provides additional stability.
Installation on USB Receptacles or GFCI Outlets
If installing on a wall outlet that is a USB receptacle or a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet, the plastic stability prong on the back of the surge protector may need to be carefully cut off. This ensures a flush and secure fit. This prong is for stability and is not essential for the electrical function of the unit.

Operating Instructions
Using AC Outlets
Once the surge protector is securely installed, plug your electronic devices directly into the 5 AC outlets. The wide spacing between outlets is designed to accommodate larger power adapters without obstructing adjacent ports.
Using USB Charging Ports
Connect your USB-powered devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) to the 2 USB-C or 2 USB-A ports. The built-in smart technology will automatically detect your device's charging requirements and deliver the optimal charging speed. Please note that the USB-C ports do not support devices that require a charging voltage of 14-22V.
Surge Protection Indicator
The green "SURGE PROTECTED" indicator light on the unit will illuminate when the surge protection feature is active, confirming that your connected devices are protected from power surges.
Maintenance
- Keep the surge protector clean and dry.
- Do not expose the unit to liquids or excessive moisture.
- Unplug the surge protector from the wall outlet before cleaning.
- Wipe the unit with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals.
Troubleshooting
No Power to Devices
- Check Connection: Ensure the surge protector is securely plugged into a functioning wall outlet.
- Test Wall Outlet: Verify that the wall outlet itself is providing power by plugging in another known working device directly.
- Surge Protection Indicator: If the green "SURGE PROTECTED" indicator light is off, it may indicate that the surge protection components have absorbed a significant power surge and are no longer functional. In this case, the unit should be replaced to ensure continued protection.
- Overload: Ensure the total power draw of all connected devices does not exceed the unit's maximum rating (1875W). Disconnect some devices if overloaded.
Slow USB Charging
- Device Compatibility: Confirm your device is compatible with the USB port's output specifications (USB-A: 2.4A Max, USB-C: 3A Max).
- Cable Quality: Check the charging cable for any damage or ensure it is a high-quality cable capable of supporting fast charging.
- Voltage Requirements: Some devices may have specific charging voltage requirements (e.g., 14-22V) that are not supported by the USB-C ports on this unit.
