4. Setup

4.1. Attaching the Air Compressor Regulator

The 2-in-1 Air Compressor Filter Regulator connects to the air inlet at the bottom of the spray gun handle. Use the provided sealing tape on the threads to ensure an airtight connection. This regulator allows for easy setting and control of air pressure, filtering out water and oil for cleaner air supply.

4.2. Assembling the Paint Mixing Cup

The spray gun utilizes a disposable cup system for convenience and reduced cleaning. Insert a disposable inner cup into the reusable outer cup. Place a lid with a strainer on top of the inner cup, then secure the outer ring. Attach the assembled cup to the top of the spray gun.

4.3. Nozzle Selection and Replacement

The spray gun comes with three different nozzle sizes: 1.4mm, 1.7mm, and 2.0mm. The 1.4mm nozzle is pre-installed and is ideal for topcoats. The 1.7mm tip is suitable for primers, and the 2.0mm tip is recommended for large area applications. When replacing a nozzle, ensure you also replace the corresponding needle to prevent leakage.

  1. Loosen the nozzle cap.
  2. Use the provided wrench to loosen and remove the nozzle.
  3. Replace with the desired nozzle and its corresponding needle.
  4. Tighten the nozzle and then the nozzle cap securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Adjusting Controls

The GATTLELIC HVLP Spray Gun features several adjustable controls for optimal performance:

  • Flow Control Valve: Rotate the knob to adjust the paint flow rate, controlling the amount of paint released.
  • Air Control Valve: Adjusts the air pressure for optimal atomization and paint saving.
  • Spray Width Adjustment: Rotate the end cap to change the spray pattern from a round shape to a wider oval, with a maximum width of approximately 24 cm.

5.2. Spraying Technique

Maintain a spraying distance of 170-240mm from the surface. The high precision atomization, achieved by the brass cover and 15-hole hood, ensures uniform spraying for all types of surface coatings. The HVLP technology helps save up to 20% of paint, with a utilization rate of up to 65%.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your spray gun.

6.1. Cleaning the Spray Gun

After each use, thoroughly clean the spray gun. The disposable cup system significantly reduces cleaning time for the paint reservoir. Use appropriate cleaning solvents recommended by your paint manufacturer. The included brush and needles can assist in cleaning the nozzle and internal passages.

6.2. Nozzle and Needle Care

Inspect nozzles and needles regularly for wear or damage. Replace them as needed to maintain a consistent spray pattern and prevent atomization issues. Always ensure the correct needle is paired with its corresponding nozzle size.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Inconsistent spray patternClogged nozzle, incorrect air pressure, paint viscosity too high/low.Clean nozzle, adjust air pressure, thin/thicken paint as per manufacturer's instructions.
Paint leakageLoose connections, worn seals, incorrect nozzle/needle pairing.Tighten all connections, replace worn seals, ensure correct nozzle/needle.
No paint flowClogged gun, empty cup, air pressure too low.Clean gun, refill cup, increase air pressure.
Air pressure issuesRegulator malfunction, air hose leak, compressor issue.Check regulator, inspect air hose, verify compressor function.
