4.2. Connecting the Main Harness

  1. Ensure the vehicle's battery is disconnected before starting the installation to prevent electrical shorts.
  2. Locate the factory radio wiring harnesses in your Toyota vehicle.
  3. Connect the 10-Pin Power Adapter from the JAYUBIEN harness to the corresponding factory power connector in your vehicle.
  4. Connect the 6-Pin Speaker Adapter from the JAYUBIEN harness to the corresponding factory speaker connector in your vehicle.
  5. Connect the 16-Pin ISO Adapter of the JAYUBIEN harness to the 16-pin power socket on your aftermarket Android car stereo.

4.3. Steering Wheel Control (SWC) Connection

Connect the 20-Pin SWC Adapter from the JAYUBIEN harness to the vehicle's factory steering wheel control connector. This allows your steering wheel buttons to control your new Android stereo. This harness does not utilize CAN BUS for SWC.

4.4. Reverse Camera Control Cable

The brown "REVERSE" wire with a blue tip is provided to connect to your aftermarket backup camera's RCA video detection cable (typically a red wire). This connection enables the car radio screen to automatically display the rear image when the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear.

  1. Identify the reverse detection wire from your backup camera's RCA video cable.
  2. Use one of the included butt connectors to securely join the JAYUBIEN harness's brown "REVERSE" wire to the backup camera's detection wire.

Butt Connector Usage:

  1. Tear the PVC jacket from the wires you intend to connect.
  2. Insert the stripped wires into the butt connector (suitable for 18AWG-22AWG cables).
  3. Use a plier tool to crimp one side of the butt connector firmly onto the wire. Repeat for the other wire on the opposite side of the connector.

4.5. Antenna Wire

The ANT (antenna) wire typically does not require connection for most aftermarket Android radios, as the antenna signal is usually handled through a separate antenna adapter (not included with this harness).

4.6. Final Steps

  1. Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure and correctly matched.
  2. Reconnect the vehicle's battery.
  3. Test the functionality of your new Android stereo, including audio, steering wheel controls, and the reverse camera.

5. Operating the System

Once installed, the JAYUBIEN wiring harness enables the full functionality of your aftermarket Android car stereo, including:

  • Power and Audio: Provides stable power to the stereo and transmits audio signals to your vehicle's speakers.
  • Steering Wheel Controls: Allows you to use your vehicle's factory steering wheel buttons to control basic functions of your new stereo (e.g., volume, track change), provided your stereo supports this feature and is configured correctly.
  • Reverse Camera Integration: Automatically switches the stereo display to the backup camera view when the vehicle is put into reverse, if a compatible camera is connected to the reverse control cable.

For detailed operation of your Android car stereo, please refer to the stereo's specific instruction manual.

6. General Care

The JAYUBIEN wiring harness is designed for durability. To ensure its longevity and proper function:

  • Ensure all connections are secure and free from strain.
  • Avoid exposing the harness to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not attempt to modify the harness wiring unless specifically instructed by a professional, as this may void any warranty and could cause damage to your vehicle's electrical system or stereo.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power to Stereo:

Ensure the 10-Pin Power Adapter is securely connected to both the vehicle and the harness. Check the vehicle's fuse box for any blown fuses related to the radio or accessory power. Verify that the 16-Pin ISO adapter is fully seated in the aftermarket stereo.

  • No Sound from Speakers:

Confirm the 6-Pin Speaker Adapter is correctly connected. Check the speaker wire connections on your aftermarket stereo. Ensure the stereo's volume is up and not muted. Verify that your vehicle does not have a factory JBL amplifier, as this harness is not compatible with such systems.

  • Steering Wheel Controls Not Working:

Ensure the 20-Pin SWC Adapter is properly connected. Some aftermarket radios require specific programming or configuration for steering wheel controls. Refer to your Android stereo's manual for SWC setup instructions. Note that pin assignments for SWC can vary between stereo manufacturers; it may be necessary to verify pin functions against your stereo's wiring diagram.

  • Reverse Camera Not Activating:

Verify that the brown "REVERSE" wire from the JAYUBIEN harness is correctly connected to the backup camera's RCA video detection wire using a butt connector. Ensure the camera itself is powered and functioning. Check your aftermarket stereo's settings for reverse camera input activation.

  • Harness Does Not Fit:

Double-check the compatibility list and compare your vehicle's factory connectors with the images provided. This harness is designed for specific Toyota models and years without JBL systems or OEM cameras. If the connectors do not match, this harness may not be suitable for your vehicle.
