2. Safety Instructions

Always adhere to the following safety guidelines to prevent injury and ensure the longevity of your sausage stuffer.

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the machine is connected to a grounded power outlet with the correct voltage as specified on the product label. Do not operate with wet hands or in wet environments. Disconnect power before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Moving Parts: Keep hands, hair, loose clothing, and utensils away from all moving parts during operation. The hydraulic piston operates with significant force.
  • Stable Placement: Always operate the machine on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping. Engage the brakes on the wheels when the machine is in its desired operating position.
  • Proper Use: Use the machine only for its intended purpose of stuffing sausages. Do not attempt to process non-food items or excessively hard materials.
  • Supervision: Do not allow children or untrained personnel to operate the machine.
  • Emergency Stop: Familiarize yourself with the location and function of the emergency stop button.
  • Cleaning: Always unplug the machine before cleaning. Use appropriate cleaning agents for stainless steel and ensure all parts are thoroughly dried before reassembly or storage.

3. Product Components

The BREVELTION Commercial Hydraulic Sausage Stuffer consists of several key components designed for efficient and safe operation.

  • Main Body: The robust stainless steel housing containing the hydraulic system and motor. Equipped with four wheels for mobility, two of which have brakes.
  • 15L Capacity Barrel: The large stainless steel cylinder where the meat mixture is loaded. It features a secure lid with two spiral pressure locks to ensure stability and safety during operation.
  • Hydraulic Piston: Located inside the barrel, this piston is driven by the hydraulic system to exert pressure on the meat mixture, forcing it through the stuffing tube.
  • Operation Panel: Located on the front of the machine, it includes the power switch, emergency stop button, and a speed adjustment knob.
  • Knee-Controlled Switch: A foot pedal-like switch that allows hands-free control of the hydraulic piston's movement, enhancing user convenience and safety.
  • Stuffing Tubes: Three food-grade 304 stainless steel tubes of varying diameters (16mm, 19mm, and 25mm) for different sausage sizes.
  • Sealing Rings: Essential components that fit around the piston to prevent air leakage and reduce air bubbles in the sausage.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your BREVELTION Commercial Hydraulic Sausage Stuffer for first use.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Position the machine on a sturdy, level surface capable of supporting its weight and the weight of the meat. Ensure adequate space around the machine for operation and cleaning. Engage the brakes on the two lockable wheels to secure the machine in place.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, thoroughly clean all food-contact parts (barrel, piston, stuffing tubes, sealing rings) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  4. Assemble Barrel: Ensure the sealing rings are correctly seated around the hydraulic piston. Place the piston inside the barrel.
  5. Attach Stuffing Tube: Select the desired stuffing tube size (16mm, 19mm, or 25mm) and securely attach it to the outlet nozzle of the barrel.
  6. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to a grounded electrical outlet that matches the voltage requirements of the machine.

5. Operation

Operating your hydraulic sausage stuffer is straightforward. Follow these steps for efficient sausage production.

  1. Prepare Meat Mixture: Ensure your meat mixture is properly prepared and chilled.
  2. Load Barrel: Open the barrel lid and load the prepared meat mixture into the 15L stainless steel barrel. Ensure the piston is at the bottom of the barrel before loading. Close and secure the lid using the spiral pressure locks.
  3. Prepare Casing: Place the desired sausage casing onto the selected stuffing tube.
  4. Power On: Turn on the main power switch located on the operation panel.
  5. Adjust Speed: Use the speed adjustment knob on the operation panel to set the desired stuffing speed. Start with a lower speed until you are comfortable with the machine's operation.
  6. Begin Stuffing: Gently press the knee-controlled switch to activate the hydraulic piston. The piston will descend, forcing the meat mixture through the stuffing tube and into the casing. Release the knee switch to stop the flow.
  7. Monitor Filling: Guide the casing as it fills, ensuring even distribution and avoiding air pockets. The hydraulic system and sealing rings are designed to minimize air.
  8. Complete Batch: Continue until the barrel is empty or the desired amount of sausage is produced.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and proper maintenance are crucial for the hygiene, performance, and longevity of your sausage stuffer.

  1. Disconnect Power: ALWAYS unplug the machine from the power outlet before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  2. Disassembly: Carefully disassemble all food-contact parts: remove the stuffing tube, open the barrel lid, and remove the hydraulic piston and sealing rings.
  3. Cleaning Parts: Wash all disassembled parts with warm water and a mild, food-safe detergent. Use a brush to remove any meat residue from the barrel, piston, and tubes. The stainless steel construction makes cleaning easy.
  4. Rinsing: Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue.
  5. Drying: Dry all components completely before reassembly or storage to prevent water spots and corrosion. Air drying or using a clean cloth is recommended.
  6. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth. Do not spray water directly onto the control panel or motor housing.
  7. Hydraulic System: The hydraulic system is largely self-contained. Periodically check for any leaks. If you notice any issues with the hydraulic fluid or pressure, contact customer support.
  8. Storage: Store the machine in a clean, dry environment when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

Refer to the table below for common issues and their potential solutions.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Machine does not power on.No power supply; power switch off; emergency stop engaged.Check power cord connection; ensure power switch is ON; disengage emergency stop button.
Piston does not move or moves slowly.Knee switch not pressed; speed adjustment too low; hydraulic issue; too much meat in barrel.Ensure knee switch is fully pressed; increase speed setting; check for obstructions; reduce meat quantity. If hydraulic issue persists, contact support.
Excessive air bubbles in sausages.Sealing rings improperly installed or damaged; air trapped in meat mixture.Inspect and properly seat sealing rings; replace if damaged. Ensure meat mixture is de-aerated before loading.
Meat leaks from barrel top.Lid not properly secured; sealing rings damaged or missing.Ensure spiral pressure locks are fully engaged; check and replace sealing rings if necessary.
