2. Safety Information

4. Product Overview
The Philips Fingerprint Smart Lock is designed for secure and convenient access. It features a sleek exterior unit with a numeric keypad and fingerprint sensor, and an interior unit with a manual turn knob and battery compartment.

5. Installation
The Philips Smart Lock is designed for easy DIY installation. A screwdriver is typically the only tool required. Ensure your door meets the following specifications:
- Door Thickness: 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm)
- Cross Bore: 1-1/2" (38mm) or 2-1/8" (54mm)
- Backset: 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm)
- Minimum Distance (from door edge to cross bore center): 2-3/8" (60mm)
The lock is compatible with single cylinder deadbolts and is not suitable for mortise, integrated, or rim cylinder lock types.

6. Setup
6.1 Battery Installation
The lock requires four AA alkaline batteries. Install them into the battery compartment located on the interior unit. Ensure correct polarity.

6.2 App Pairing and User Management
Download the Philips Home Access app to manage your smart lock. Follow the in-app instructions to pair your device via Bluetooth. Once paired, you can add and manage users, assign fingerprints, and create PIN codes.
- Fingerprint Enrollment: Enroll up to 50 unique fingerprints directly on the lock.
- PIN Code Creation: Create and manage up to 100 unique PIN codes for various users (e.g., permanent, scheduled, temporary, one-time).
- Access History: View a log of lock activity through the app.

7. Operating Instructions
7.1 Unlocking the Door
- Fingerprint: Place your enrolled finger on the sensor. The lock will unlock in approximately 0.3 seconds.
- PIN Code: Touch the keypad to activate it, then enter your 6-digit PIN code followed by the checkmark.
- Mobile App: Open the Philips Home Access app and tap the unlock icon when within Bluetooth range (8-10 meters).
- Traditional Key: Insert the physical key into the keyhole and turn to unlock.
7.2 Locking the Door
- Manual Lock: Press the lock button on the exterior unit or turn the knob on the interior unit.
- Auto-Lock: The lock can be configured to automatically lock after a set period (30-180 seconds) once the door is closed. This feature ensures your door is always secured.
7.3 Modes of Operation
The lock supports various modes to suit your lifestyle:
- Vacation Mode: Disables all user codes and fingerprints for enhanced security during extended absences.
- Silence Mode: Disables all sound prompts from the lock.
- Privacy Mode: Locks the door from the inside, preventing entry even with valid codes or fingerprints from the outside.
8. Maintenance
8.1 Battery Replacement
The Philips Smart Lock is designed for long battery life, typically lasting up to 9 months on a single set of AA alkaline batteries. The app will provide low battery alerts, notifying you when it's time to replace them. To replace, slide open the battery cover on the interior unit, remove old batteries, and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity.

8.2 Cleaning
Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
9. Troubleshooting
- Lock not responding: Check battery levels and replace if necessary. Ensure the lock is properly installed and all cables are connected.
- Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-enrolling your fingerprint if issues persist.
- PIN code not working: Verify the correct PIN is entered. The lock will trigger a 3-minute lockout after 10 failed PIN or fingerprint entries for added security.
- App connectivity issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and you are within range of the lock. Restart the app or your phone if needed.
- Auto-lock not functioning: Check the auto-lock settings in the app to ensure it is enabled and the timer is set correctly.
