3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

Each talkie-walkie requires 4 AAA batteries (not included). Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the talkie-walkie.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert 4 AAA batteries, matching the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

3.2. Initial Power On

After installing batteries, press and hold the Power ON/OFF button until the display screen illuminates.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Powering On/Off

  • To turn on: Press and hold the Power ON/OFF button until the display lights up.
  • To turn off: Press and hold the Power ON/OFF button until the display turns off.

4.2. Adjusting Volume

Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to adjust the listening volume. The current volume level will be displayed on the screen.

4.3. Selecting a Channel

Your talkie-walkie has 22 available channels. To communicate with another talkie-walkie, both devices must be set to the same channel.

  1. Press the MENU button once. The channel number on the display will start flashing.
  2. Use the Volume Up or Volume Down buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
  3. Press the MENU button again to confirm your selection and exit the channel setting mode.

4.4. Transmitting and Receiving

  • To Transmit: Press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button. Speak clearly into the microphone, holding the talkie-walkie approximately 5-10 cm from your mouth. Release the PTT button when you finish speaking.
  • To Receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The talkie-walkie will automatically receive transmissions on the selected channel.

4.5. Using the Flashlight

Press the Flashlight ON/OFF button to turn the integrated flashlight on or off. This feature is useful for low-light conditions.

4.6. Channel Scan Function

The scan function allows you to automatically search for active channels.

  • Press the SCAN button to activate channel scanning. The talkie-walkie will cycle through channels until it detects a signal.
  • When a signal is detected, the scan will pause on that channel.
  • To stop scanning, press the SCAN button again.

4.7. Monitor Function

The monitor function allows you to listen to weak signals by temporarily disabling the squelch.

  • Press and hold the MON button to activate the monitor function. You will hear static if no signal is present.
  • Release the MON button to return to normal operation.

4.8. Keypad Lock

To prevent accidental changes to settings, you can lock the keypad.

  • To lock: Press and hold the MENU/Lock button until a lock icon appears on the display.
  • To unlock: Press and hold the MENU/Lock button again until the lock icon disappears.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the talkie-walkie. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Care: Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage. Replace all batteries at the same time.
