3. Installation
3.1 Choosing a Location
- Place the unit on a firm, level surface in a room that requires cooling.
- Ensure there is at least 20 inches (50 cm) of space around the unit for proper airflow.
- Position the unit near a window or opening to allow for exhaust hose installation.
- The unit requires a standard 115V, 15 Amp electrical outlet.

3.2 Window Installation Kit Assembly
The window installation kit is designed to fit most standard vertical and horizontal windows. Follow these steps to install the kit:
- Measure the window opening.
- Adjust the window vent and extension panel (if needed) to fit the window opening. Secure them together.
- Place the assembled window kit into the window opening and close the window securely against it.

3.3 Exhaust Hose Connection
Connect the flexible vent hose to the unit and the window kit:
- Attach the mounting bracket to one end of the flexible vent hose.
- Attach the diffuser to the other end of the flexible vent hose.
- Connect the mounting bracket end of the hose to the exhaust outlet on the back of the air conditioner unit.
- Insert the diffuser end of the hose into the opening of the window installation kit.

4. Operation
Your LG portable air conditioner can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

4.1 Control Panel
The control panel is located on the top of the unit and features an LED display and various buttons for controlling functions.
- Power Button: Turns the unit on or off.
- Mode Button: Cycles through Cool, Fan, and Dry modes.
- Temperature Up/Down Buttons: Adjusts the desired temperature setting.
- Fan Speed Button: Selects fan speed (Low, Medium, High).
- Timer Button: Sets the auto-on or auto-off timer.
- Filter Reset Button: Illuminates to remind you to clean the filter. Press and hold to reset after cleaning.
4.2 Remote Control
The remote control provides convenient access to all functions from a distance. Ensure batteries are correctly inserted.

4.3 Operating Modes

- Cool Mode: Provides powerful cooling and dehumidification. Set your desired temperature using the Up/Down buttons.
- Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. You can select different fan speeds.
- Dry Mode (Dehumidification): Reduces humidity in the room. The fan speed is automatically controlled in this mode.
4.4 Timer Function
The 24-hour timer allows you to set the unit to automatically turn on or off after a specified period.
- To set Auto-Off: With the unit running, press the Timer button, then use the Up/Down buttons to set the desired off time.
- To set Auto-On: With the unit off, press the Timer button, then use the Up/Down buttons to set the desired on time.
4.5 Auto Swing
Press the 'SWING' button on the remote control to activate the oscillating air vent, which helps distribute cool air more evenly throughout the room.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air conditioner.
5.1 Air Filter Cleaning
The air filter should be cleaned approximately twice a month, or more frequently depending on usage and air quality. A 'Filter Clean' indicator light on the control panel will illuminate as a reminder.
- Turn off and unplug the unit.
- Locate the air filter on the back of the unit.
- Slide the filter out gently.
- Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water. For heavy dust, use a mild detergent and warm water.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
- Once the filter is reinserted, plug in the unit and press and hold the 'Filter Reset' button for 3 seconds to clear the indicator light.
5.2 Draining Water
During cooling and dehumidification, water collects inside the unit. The unit has a self-evaporative system, but in high humidity conditions, manual draining may be necessary. The unit will stop operating and display an error code (e.g., 'FL' for full tank) when the water tank is full.
- Turn off and unplug the unit.
- Place a shallow pan or tray under the drain port located at the bottom rear of the unit.
- Remove the drain plug. Water will begin to flow out.
- Once all water has drained, replace the drain plug securely.
5.3 Storage
If the unit will not be used for an extended period:
- Drain all accumulated water from the unit.
- Clean the air filter.
- Run the unit in Fan mode for a few hours to dry the interior.
- Unplug the power cord and wrap it neatly.
- Store the unit in a cool, dry place, preferably covered to protect from dust.
