Setup and Installation

The LG LW5024X is designed for quick and easy installation in double-hung windows. An EZ Mount installation kit is included to facilitate the process.

Installation Steps:

  1. Unpack the air conditioner unit and all accessories from the box.
  2. Assemble the window installation kit according to the included instructions. This typically involves attaching the curtain panels to the sides of the unit.
  3. Carefully place the unit into the double-hung window opening. Ensure it is level and securely positioned.
  4. Extend the side panels to fill the window opening and secure them in place. Use the provided foam insulation strips to seal any gaps and prevent air leakage.
  5. Plug the power cord into a standard 115V, 15 Amp electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The LG LW5024X features simple mechanical controls for straightforward operation.

Control Panel Functions:

  • Mode Dial: Rotate the dial to select between "Fan" and "Cool" modes. Within the "Cool" range, adjust the dial to increase or decrease cooling intensity.
  • Power Switch: Use the "Off/On" switch to turn the unit on or off.
  • Fan Speed Switch: Select "Low" or "Hi" to adjust the fan speed.
  • Air Deflection: Manually adjust the horizontal louvers to direct the airflow as desired. The 2-way air deflection system helps distribute cool air evenly.

The unit also features an auto-restart function, which automatically resumes operation with the last settings after a power interruption.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air conditioner.

Cleaning the Washable Filter:

The LG LW5024X is equipped with a slide-out washable filter. It is recommended to clean the filter every 30 days, or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

  1. Turn off the air conditioner and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Open the front panel of the unit.
  3. Gently slide out the air filter.
  4. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  5. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit. Do not use hot water or harsh detergents, as this may damage the filter.
  6. Close the front panel and plug the unit back in.

General Cleaning:

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Ensure the air intake and exhaust vents are free from obstructions.

Troubleshooting
