2.2 Connecting the Scanner

  1. Locate the vehicle's OBD2 port, typically found under the dashboard on the driver's side.
  2. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off before connecting the scanner.
  3. Plug the V520 scanner's integrated cable into the vehicle's OBD2 port. The scanner will power on automatically.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Main Menu Navigation

Use the directional buttons (up, down, left, right) to navigate through the menu options and the 'OK' button to confirm selections. The 'EXIT' button returns to the previous screen.

3.2 Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)

  1. From the main menu, select "OBD/EOBD" or "Read Codes".
  2. The scanner will link to the vehicle and display any detected DTCs.
  3. To clear codes, select "Clear DTC" from the main menu. Confirm the action when prompted.

3.3 Live Data Stream

  • Select "Data Stream" from the main menu.
  • Choose "View the data" to see a list of parameters or "Custom data set" to select specific parameters.

3.4 I/M Readiness

Check the readiness status of various emission-related monitoring systems to determine if the vehicle is ready for an emissions test.

  • Select "I/M Readiness" from the main menu.
  • The screen will display the status of each monitor (OK, INC, N/A).

3.5 Cloud Print Functionality

  1. Select "Cloud Print" from the main menu.
  2. Choose the type of data to print (DTC, Data Stream, Freeze Frame).
  3. A QR code will be generated on the scanner's screen.
  4. Scan the QR code with your smartphone to view and save the diagnostic report.
