2. Product Overview

The YUNFANG Smart Video Doorbell is a wireless security device featuring an HD camera, PIR motion detection, IR alarm, and Wi-Fi intercom capabilities. It allows you to monitor your doorstep, communicate with visitors, and enhance your home security from anywhere via a mobile application.

2.1 Key Features

  • Video Intercom: Respond to visitors easily. When someone presses the doorbell, you receive a notification on your phone and can enter a video call interface.
  • Portable Setup: Supports adhesive backing for installation without drilling holes. No plug-in required for convenience.
  • Cloud Storage: Captures visitor photos and saves records to the cloud, allowing you to view past images anytime via the mobile app for enhanced security.

3. Setup

3.1 Powering the Doorbell

  1. The doorbell unit requires 3 AAA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the doorbell unit and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. The chime unit is typically powered by a USB cable (not included) or can also use batteries if designed for it. Refer to the chime unit's specific instructions for power.

3.2 App Installation and Device Pairing

  1. Download the 'ulooka' app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the doorbell or manually selecting the device type.
  4. Connect the doorbell to your 2.4G WiFi network as prompted by the app. Ensure your phone is connected to the same 2.4G WiFi network during setup.
  5. Pair the doorbell unit with the chime unit. Press and hold the pairing key on the chime unit until an indicator light flashes. Then, press the doorbell button on the main unit. The chime should ring, indicating successful pairing.

3.3 Installation Location

Choose a suitable location for your doorbell unit. It should be placed at a height that allows for a clear view of visitors and within range of your Wi-Fi network.

  1. Adhesive Installation: Clean the surface where you intend to mount the doorbell. Remove the protective film from the adhesive backing on the doorbell unit and firmly press it onto the desired location.
  2. Screw Installation: If preferred, use the provided screws to securely mount the doorbell unit to the wall. Mark the drill points, drill pilot holes, and then attach the doorbell.

Place the chime unit indoors, within hearing range, and where it can receive a stable signal from the doorbell unit (up to 50 meters).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Live View and Remote Monitoring

You can view the status in front of your door anytime and anywhere through the mobile phone app.

  1. Open the 'ulooka' app on your smartphone.
  2. Select your doorbell device from the list.
  3. You will see a live video feed from the doorbell camera.

4.2 Two-Way Audio Communication

When a visitor presses the doorbell, you will receive a push notification on your phone. Tap the notification to enter the video call interface.

  1. In the live view or video call interface, tap the microphone icon to enable two-way audio.
  2. Speak into your phone to communicate with the visitor at your door.
  3. Tap the microphone icon again to mute.

4.3 Motion Detection and Alerts

The doorbell features automatic motion detection with adjustable sensitivity. When motion is detected, it can trigger an IR alarm and send alerts to your phone.

  1. Access motion detection settings within the 'ulooka' app.

4.5 Chime Settings

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the doorbell and chime units. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the AAA batteries in the doorbell unit when the low battery indicator appears in the app or on the device.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the 'ulooka' app for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the doorbell is not exposed to extreme temperatures or direct water immersion. While designed for outdoor use, protection from heavy rain or direct sunlight can extend its lifespan.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check if batteries are correctly inserted and charged. For the chime, ensure it is properly powered.
  • Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Verify the Wi-Fi password. Move the doorbell closer to the router during setup.
  • Poor Video Quality: Check your Wi-Fi signal strength. Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from obstructions.
  • No Notifications: Check app notification settings on your phone and within the 'ulooka' app. Ensure the app has necessary permissions.
  • Chime Not Ringing: Ensure the doorbell and chime are paired. Check the chime's volume settings.
  • Motion Detection Too Sensitive/Insensitive: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity in the app settings.
