3.2 Wiring Connections

  • Power: Connect the yellow wire to constant 12V, red wire to accessory 12V, and black wire to ground.
  • Speakers: Connect speaker wires to the appropriate positive and negative terminals.
  • Antenna: Connect the vehicle's AM/FM antenna to the antenna input.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Front Panel Controls

  • Power/Volume Knob: Press to turn on/off. Rotate to adjust volume.
  • MODE Button: Press to cycle through available sources (Tuner, CD, USB, AUX, Bluetooth).
  • BAND Button: In Tuner mode, press to select AM/FM bands.
  • DISP Button: Changes display information.
  • Voice Activation Button: Activates Siri or Google Assistant on a connected smartphone.
  • USB Port: Connect USB storage devices for audio playback.
  • AUX Input: Connect external audio devices via a 3.5mm cable.

4.2 Radio Operation (AM/FM)

  1. Press the MODE button to select Tuner mode.
  2. Press the BAND button to select between FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1, and AM2.
  3. Press the or buttons to manually tune frequencies. Hold to seek automatically.
  4. To store a preset, tune to the desired station, then press and hold one of the preset buttons (1-6) until it beeps.

4.3 CD Player Operation

  1. Insert a CD into the disc slot. The unit will automatically switch to CD mode and begin playback.
  2. Press the or buttons to skip tracks. Hold to fast forward/rewind.
  3. Use the 1 RPT button for repeat playback and 2 RDM for random playback.

4.4 Bluetooth Operation

  1. Pairing: With the unit on, enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and search for "DUAL BT". Select it to pair. The Bluetooth icon on the unit's display will illuminate when connected.
  2. Hands-Free Calling: When a call comes in, press the button to answer. Press again to end the call.
  3. Audio Streaming: Play audio from your paired device. Use the or buttons to control playback.

4.5 USB and Auxiliary Input

  • USB: Insert a USB flash drive into the front USB port. The unit will automatically switch to USB mode and begin playing compatible audio files (e.g., MP3).
  • AUX: Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the front 3.5mm AUX input using an audio cable. Press the MODE button to select AUX input.

4.6 Audio Settings

Press the volume knob briefly to access audio settings such as Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader, and EQ presets. Rotate the knob to adjust values and press again to confirm or move to the next setting.

  • EQ Presets: Choose from 7 predefined equalizer settings.
  • Tone Control: Adjust Bass and Treble levels.

4.7 iPlug Smart Remote App

Download the Dual iPlug Smart Remote app from your device's app store (Apple/Android). This app allows you to control basic functions of the XDM290BT via Bluetooth from your smartphone.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Unit

Wipe the front panel with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. For stubborn stains, a slightly damp cloth may be used, followed by a dry cloth.

5.2 CD Care
