4. Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your Govee 16.4ft Extension Light:

  1. Plan Your Layout: Before installation, determine the desired path for your extension lights. Ensure the total length, including your existing Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro, does not exceed 200ft.
  2. Prepare the Surface: Clean the installation surface thoroughly. It should be dry, smooth, and free of dust or debris for optimal adhesion.
  3. Connect the Extension: Locate the waterproof connectors on your existing Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro and the 16.4ft extension light. Align the connectors and twist them securely to form a waterproof seal. Ensure the connection is firm to prevent water ingress.
  4. Mount the Lights:
    • Using VHB Adhesive: Peel the backing from the VHB adhesive pads and firmly press the light units onto the desired surface. Hold each unit in place for a few seconds to ensure strong adhesion.
    • Using Mounting Clips: For added security or on rougher surfaces, use the provided mounting clips and screws. Position the clips over the light cable or unit and secure them with screws.

It is recommended to mount the lights on eaves, maintaining a distance of 2-4 inches from the wall for optimal light distribution.

  5. Secure Cables: Ensure all cables are neatly routed and secured to prevent tripping hazards or damage. Use additional clips if necessary.
  6. Power On: Once all connections are secure and lights are mounted, connect the main power adapter to an outlet.

4.1 Cutting and Splicing (Advanced Users Only)

The Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro system allows for cutting and splicing for customized lengths. This process requires careful attention to detail and proper tools. Refer to the diagram below for guidance. Improper cutting or splicing can damage the lights and void the warranty.
