4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To ensure optimal performance and longevity, keep your keyboard and mouse clean.

  • Disconnect the USB receiver from your computer before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or spraying liquids directly onto the devices.
  • For the keyboard, use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keys.
  • For the mouse, clean the optical sensor area on the underside to ensure accurate tracking.

4.2 Battery Replacement

When the keyboard or mouse performance degrades (e.g., delayed response, erratic movement), it may be time to replace the batteries.

  • Follow the battery installation steps outlined in Section 2.2.
  • Always use new, high-quality AAA alkaline batteries.
  • Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

4.3 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard and mouse in a cool, dry place. It is recommended to remove the batteries if storing for several months to prevent leakage.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your HP Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo, try the following solutions:

ProblemPossible Solution
Keyboard/Mouse not responding
  • Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace if necessary.

  • Reduce interference by moving other wireless devices (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones) away from the receiver.
  • Ensure there are no large metal objects between the devices and the receiver.
  • Check battery levels and replace if low.
Mouse cursor erratic or not moving smoothly
  • Clean the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse.
  • Use the mouse on a clean, non-reflective surface or a mouse pad.
