5. Operating Instructions

This bed features a hydraulic lift system for under-bed storage and two integrated drawers.

5.1. Using the Hydraulic Lift Storage

  • To access the under-bed storage, firmly grasp the edge of the bed frame (usually at the footboard or side) and lift upwards. The hydraulic mechanism will assist in raising the mattress platform.
  • To close, gently push the mattress platform downwards until it fully lowers and locks into place. Ensure no objects are obstructing the closing mechanism.
  • Do not place hands or fingers near the hinges or hydraulic pistons during operation.

5.2. Using the Storage Drawers

  • The two drawers are located at the foot of the bed. Pull the handles to open them.
  • Push the drawers back in until they are fully closed and flush with the bed frame.
  • Avoid overloading the drawers to ensure smooth operation and prevent damage to the runners.

6. Maintenance

Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your Gustonhon bed frame.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the wood surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish.
  • Hardware Check: Periodically inspect all bolts and screws to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten as necessary to maintain stability and prevent squeaking.
  • Drawer Maintenance: Keep drawer runners free of dust and debris. If drawers become stiff, a small amount of silicone lubricant can be applied to the runners.
  • Hydraulic System: The hydraulic pistons are designed for long-term use and generally require no maintenance. If you notice a significant change in performance, contact customer support.

7. Troubleshooting

Refer to this section for common issues and their solutions.

  • Bed Squeaks:
Solution: Check all assembly hardware. Loose bolts are a common cause of squeaking. Tighten all connections securely. Ensure the bed is on a level surface.
  • Drawers are Stiff or Not Closing Properly:
Solution: Check for obstructions in the drawer runners. Ensure the drawers are correctly aligned on their tracks. Verify that the drawer assembly is correct and not warped.
  • Hydraulic Lift Not Holding Position:
Solution: Ensure the mattress is within the recommended weight range for the bed. If the issue persists, the hydraulic pistons may need inspection. Contact customer support for assistance.
  • Missing or Damaged Parts:
Solution: If you received the product with missing or damaged parts, do not proceed with assembly. Contact Gustonhon customer service immediately for replacement parts.
