1. Introduction and Overview

The Vornado EXO61 Medium Heavy Duty Air Circulator is engineered to provide powerful and efficient air circulation in demanding environments such as garages, workshops, warehouses, and job sites. Featuring Vornado's signature Vortex Action, this circulator moves air up to 75 feet, ensuring whole-room comfort and ventilation. Its rugged design includes an EXOskeleton high-impact housing and an IP54-rated motor, offering superior protection against dust and debris.

2. Important Safety Instructions

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE.

  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
  • Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard fan or return to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  • Do not use this fan near water, such as in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, or in a bathroom.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Do not use this fan in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids or gases are used or stored.
  • The EXO61 meets OSHA safety standards.

3. Setup and Assembly

The Vornado EXO61 is designed for quick and easy setup. It comes with a stable steel base and can also be wall-mounted using built-in keyholes (hardware not included).

Attaching to the Stand:

The fan unit is pre-assembled to the U-shaped steel base. Ensure the two tightening knobs on either side of the fan are securely fastened to maintain the desired angle. To adjust the angle, loosen the knobs, position the fan, and then re-tighten the knobs firmly.

Wall Mounting:

The rear of the fan housing features integrated keyholes for wall mounting. Select a suitable location and use appropriate hardware (screws not included) to secure the fan to a wall. Ensure the mounting surface can support the fan's weight and vibration during operation.

4. Operating Instructions

The EXO61 features glove-friendly toggle controls for easy operation.

Powering On/Off and Speed Selection:

Locate the toggle switch on the back of the fan unit. This switch controls the power and speed settings.

  • OFF (O): Turns the fan off.
  • Speed I (Low): Provides gentle air circulation.
  • Speed II (Medium): Offers moderate airflow for general use.
  • Speed III (High): Delivers maximum airflow for powerful circulation.

Adjusting Airflow Direction:

The fan head can be pivoted to direct airflow precisely where needed. Loosen the side knobs, adjust the fan head to the desired angle, and then re-tighten the knobs to secure its position.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning of your Vornado EXO61 will ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.

Cleaning the Exterior:

Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces of the fan. Do not use gasoline, thinners, solvents, or other chemicals for cleaning, as these may damage the finish.

Cleaning the Blades and Grill:

The EXO61 features an easy-clean removable grill. To access the blades for cleaning:

  1. Ensure the fan is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the screws securing the front grill. Carefully remove these screws.
  3. Gently detach the front grill.
  4. Wipe the fan blades with a soft, damp cloth.
  5. Clean the grill with a damp cloth or mild soap and water.
  6. Once clean and dry, reattach the grill and secure it with the screws.

Storage:

When not in use, store the fan in a cool, dry place. It is recommended to cover the fan to protect it from dust.

6. Troubleshooting

Before performing any troubleshooting, ensure the fan is unplugged from the power source.
