1. Introduction

2. Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury, including the following:

3. Product Components

The BLACK+DECKER Crisp 'N Bake Toaster Oven comes with several components designed for versatile cooking:

4. Setup

Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. Wash all removable parts (air fry mesh tray, bake pan, wire rack, crumb tray) in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. Wipe the interior and exterior of the oven with a damp cloth. Place the toaster oven on a stable, heat-resistant surface with adequate clearance from walls and other appliances for proper ventilation. The unit features legs to keep it elevated from the countertop, preventing heat transfer.

5. Operating Instructions

The toaster oven features two simple control knobs for operation:

• Temperature Knob: Adjusts the cooking temperature from Warm to 450°F and selects the cooking function (Bake, Broil, Toast, Air Fry).
• Timer/Toast Knob: Sets the cooking time up to 30 minutes or selects toast shade. It also has a 'Stay On' option for continuous operation.

5.1. Air Fry Function

The Air Fry function uses high-intensity hot air to bake, brown, and crisp your favorite fried foods with little to no oil. Place food on the air fry mesh tray, which should be placed on top of the bake pan to catch any drips. Select 'Air Fry' on the temperature knob and set the desired temperature and time.

5.2. Bake and Broil Functions

For baking, place food on the bake pan or an oven-safe dish on the wire rack. Select 'Bake' on the temperature knob and set the desired temperature and time. For broiling, place food directly on the wire rack or on the bake pan. Select 'Broil' and set the time. Always monitor food closely when broiling.

5.3. Toast Function (EvenToast Technology)

The EvenToast Technology™ ensures even distribution of heat and infrared energy for optimized toasting. Place bread or other items directly on the wire rack. Select 'Toast' on the temperature knob and use the timer/toast knob to select your desired toast shade. The oven will automatically turn off when the toast cycle is complete.

5.4. Keep Warm Function

To keep food warm, select 'Warm' on the temperature knob. You can use the 'Stay On' setting on the timer/toast knob for continuous warming, or set a specific time if desired.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your toaster oven. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

• Crumb Tray: The removable crumb tray should be emptied regularly. Slide it out from the bottom and discard crumbs. Wash with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
• Air Fry Mesh Tray, Bake Pan, Wire Rack: These accessories are dishwasher safe or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• Interior: Wipe the interior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive cleaner designed for oven interiors may be used. Ensure the interior is completely dry before next use.
• Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads.

7. Troubleshooting

If your toaster oven is not functioning as expected, please check the following common issues before contacting support:

• Appliance not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check your household circuit breaker.
• Food not cooking evenly: Ensure food is placed centrally on the rack. For toast, utilize the EvenToast Technology. For air frying, ensure the air fry mesh tray is not overloaded.
• Smoke or odor during first use: This is normal during initial use as manufacturing oils burn off. Ensure adequate ventilation. If smoke persists, unplug the unit and contact support.
• Timer not advancing: Ensure the timer knob is rotated past the '10' mark before setting to the desired time.
