  4. Power Connection: Insert the power cord securely into the rice cooker's power inlet, then plug the other end into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the appliance's requirements.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Rice Cooking (Plain Rice)

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One cup of raw rice typically yields about 2-3 cups of cooked rice.
  2. Wash Rice: Place the measured rice into the rice washing bowl. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear. Drain well using the bowl's drainers.
  3. Add to Inner Pot: Transfer the washed rice to the inner cooking pot.
  4. Add Water: Add water according to the water level markings inside the inner pot, corresponding to the number of rice cups. For example, if you added 3 cups of rice, fill water to the "3" mark for plain rice. Adjust water amount slightly based on desired texture.
  5. Place Pot in Cooker: Place the inner pot into the main rice cooker unit, ensuring it sits properly. Close the lid securely.
  6. Select Menu: Press the Menu button repeatedly until "Plain" or "White Rice" (or similar) is selected on the display.
  7. Start Cooking: Press the Start button. The cooking indicator will illuminate, and the cooking process will begin.
  8. Keep Warm: Once cooking is complete, the rice cooker will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" function.
  9. Serve: Open the lid, fluff the rice with the spatula, and serve.

5.2 Tacook Synchronized Cooking Function

The Tacook function allows you to cook rice and a main dish simultaneously using the included cooking plate, without the flavors mixing.

  1. Prepare rice as described in Section 5.1 (Steps 1-4).
  2. Prepare your main dish ingredients and place them on the cooking plate. Ensure the ingredients do not exceed the capacity of the plate.
  3. Carefully place the cooking plate with ingredients onto the inner pot, above the rice and water.
  4. Close the lid securely.
  5. Press the Menu button to select "Synchro-Cooking" (or "Tacook").
  6. Press the Start button. The cooker will automatically adjust cooking time for both dishes.
  7. Once cooking is complete, remove the cooking plate with the main dish first, then serve the rice.

5.3 Other Cooking Functions (Brown, Multigrain, Porridge, Slow Cook, Steam)

To use other functions:

  1. Prepare ingredients as appropriate for the selected function (e.g., brown rice, oats for porridge, ingredients for stew).
  2. Place ingredients into the inner pot. For steaming, use the provided steam basket (if applicable, or place items on the cooking plate).
  3. Close the lid.
  4. Press the Menu button to cycle through the available options until your desired function (e.g., "Brown", "Porridge", "Slow Cook", "Steam") is selected.
  5. Press the Start button.

5.4 Timer Function

The timer function allows you to set a delayed start time for cooking.

  1. Prepare rice and water in the inner pot as usual.
  2. Close the lid.
  3. Select your desired cooking menu (e.g., "Plain").
  4. Press the Timer button. The timer indicator will flash.
  5. Use the Hour and Min buttons to set the desired completion time. This is the time you want the rice to be ready.
  6. Press the Start button. The timer will activate, and cooking will begin automatically at the calculated time to ensure completion by your set time.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your rice cooker.

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always unplug the rice cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Inner Pot and Accessories: Remove the inner cooking pot, cooking plate, measuring cup, spatula, rice container bin, and rice washing bowl. Wash these items with warm water and a mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembling or storing. These parts are generally dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  3. Inner Lid: The inner lid is often removable for thorough cleaning. Follow instructions in the manual for detaching and reattaching. Wash with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry.
  4. Main Unit Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the rice cooker with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a small amount of mild detergent on the cloth, then wipe with a clean damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  5. Steam Vent: Ensure the steam vent on the lid is clear of any food debris. Clean with a small brush if necessary.
  6. Condensation Collector (if applicable): If your model has a condensation collector, remove and empty it after each use. Wash and dry it.
