1. Important Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electrical shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Always disconnect power before installing or servicing the switch.
  • Ensure the switch's rated voltage and current (AC 250V, 15A / AC 125V, 20A) are compatible with your application's requirements.
  • Use appropriate wiring and connectors for the specified current.
  • Installation should be performed by a qualified professional if you are unsure about electrical wiring.
  • Do not expose the switch to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures beyond its operating limits, despite the waterproof boot.

4. Setup and Installation

The Baomain RT1122FS-C toggle switch is designed for panel mounting. Follow these steps for proper installation:

  1. Prepare Mounting Hole: Drill a circular hole in your panel with a diameter suitable for the switch's threaded portion. Refer to the dimensions provided in Section 3. The threaded portion is approximately 0.47 inches (12mm) in diameter, but ensure the cap diameter (21mm) and body size (29x16mm) are accounted for.
  2. Mount the Switch: Insert the threaded shaft of the switch through the prepared hole. Secure it from the front with the provided nut and washer. The waterproof boot should be placed on the shaft before the nut, if desired, to seal the opening.
  3. Wiring Connections: Identify the screw terminals on the back of the switch. This is an SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switch with three terminals.
    • Typically, the center terminal is the common (input) terminal.
    • The two outer terminals are the switched outputs (one for each "ON" position).
Connect your electrical wires to the appropriate screw terminals. Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent arcing or loose connections.
  4. Verify Installation: Double-check all wiring connections and ensure the switch is securely mounted before restoring power.

5. Operating Instructions

The RT1122FS-C is a momentary ON/OFF/ON toggle switch. This means the switch lever will return to the center "OFF" position when released from either "ON" position.

  • Center Position: In the default center position, the switch is OFF, and no connection is made between the common terminal and either output terminal.
  • Push Up (Momentary ON): Pushing the toggle lever upwards will momentarily activate one of the output circuits. The lever will spring back to the center OFF position when released.
  • Push Down (Momentary ON): Pushing the toggle lever downwards will momentarily activate the other output circuit. The lever will also spring back to the center OFF position when released.

This momentary action is ideal for applications requiring temporary activation, such as controlling motors (e.g., raising/lowering windows, winches) or other functions that need to stop when the switch is no longer held.

6. Maintenance

The Baomain RT1122FS-C toggle switch is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the switch and the waterproof boot with a clean, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the switch for any signs of physical damage, such as cracks in the housing or boot, or loose terminals. Ensure the waterproof boot is intact and properly seated.
  • Environmental Protection: While equipped with a waterproof boot, avoid prolonged submersion or exposure to high-pressure water jets, which could compromise the internal components.

7. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your Baomain toggle switch, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Switch Not Activating:
    • Check if power is supplied to the common terminal of the switch.
    • Verify that all wiring connections to the screw terminals are secure and correctly wired according to your application's schematic.
    • Ensure the load connected to the output terminals is functioning correctly and not drawing excessive current.
  • Intermittent Operation:
    • Inspect for loose wiring connections at the switch terminals or elsewhere in the circuit.
    • Check for any physical damage to the switch body or lever that might impede its internal mechanism.
  • Switch Lever Not Returning to Center:
    • Ensure there is no obstruction around the switch lever preventing its full range of motion.
    • If the internal spring mechanism is damaged, the switch may need replacement.

If problems persist after performing these checks, it may indicate a faulty switch or a more complex issue within your electrical system. Consult a qualified electrician if necessary.
