Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Anfilank Electric Gooseneck Kettle.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads as they may damage the finish.
- Interior Cleaning (Descaling): Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas.
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
- Boil the mixture and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup.
- Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with fresh water several times.
- For stubborn deposits, gently scrub the interior with a soft brush or sponge.
- Alternatively, use a commercial descaling product designed for kettles, following the product's instructions.
- Drying: After each use, it is recommended to empty any remaining water and leave the lid open to allow the interior to air dry. This helps prevent limescale buildup and maintains cleanliness.
- Storage: When not in use, store the kettle in a dry place. You can wrap the power cord around the base for neat storage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Kettle does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power switch not engaged; no water in kettle. | Ensure kettle is properly plugged into a working outlet. Push the On/Off switch down firmly. Add water to the kettle (above MIN line). |
| Water not boiling. | Insufficient water; kettle not properly seated on base. | Ensure water level is above the MIN mark. Re-seat the kettle firmly on the power base. |
| Kettle turns off too quickly. | Limescale buildup; kettle was dry-boiled. | Descale the kettle as per maintenance instructions. If dry-boiled, allow to cool completely before refilling and restarting. |
| Unusual taste or odor in water. | New kettle odor; mineral deposits. | Perform initial cleaning steps (boil and discard water several times). Descale the kettle if mineral deposits are present. |
