The RC-210E is a versatile metalworking lathe designed for precision tasks, featuring a brushless motor, variable speed control, and a gearless design for reduced noise and simplified thread cutting. It supports both metric and imperial threading without manual gear changes.
2. Safety Instructions
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in serious injury or death.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and suitable clothing. Avoid loose clothing, jewelry, and long hair that can get caught in moving parts.
- Ensure the work area is clean, well-lit, and free from obstructions. Keep children and unauthorized personnel away from the machine.
- Before making any adjustments, maintenance, or when leaving the machine unattended, always disconnect the power supply.
- Securely clamp all workpieces in the chuck or collet. Never operate the lathe with an unsecured workpiece.
- Use sharp, correctly ground cutting tools. Dull tools can cause excessive force, chatter, and potential hazards.
- Never attempt to stop the chuck or workpiece with your hand. Allow the machine to come to a complete stop naturally.
- Be aware of flying chips and hot metal. Use chip guards and never remove chips with bare hands while the machine is running.
- Do not overload the machine. Operate within its specified capacities.
- Familiarize yourself with the emergency stop switch location and operation.
- Ensure proper ventilation when working with coolants or lubricants.

4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully remove the lathe from its packaging.
- Inspect the machine for any signs of shipping damage. Report any damage to your supplier immediately.
- Verify that all components and accessories listed in the packing list are present.
4.2 Placement
- Place the lathe on a sturdy, level workbench or stand capable of supporting its weight (approximately 187 pounds).
- Ensure adequate clearance around the machine for safe operation and maintenance.
4.3 Initial Cleaning and Preparation

The lathe bed and chuck are coated with a yellow anti-rust oil to prevent corrosion during shipping and storage. This is a normal phenomenon and must be thoroughly cleaned before the first use.
- Using a clean cloth and a suitable degreaser (such as mineral spirits or kerosene, avoid harsh solvents), carefully wipe off all anti-rust oil from the lathe bed, chuck, and other exposed metal surfaces.
- After cleaning the chuck, turn it by hand to ensure it moves freely. This prevents the chuck from jamming and potentially damaging the circuit board upon power-up.
- Apply a thin layer of machine oil to all clean, unpainted metal surfaces to protect them from rust.
4.4 Electrical Connection
- Ensure the power switch is in the "OFF" position before connecting the machine to power.
- Connect the lathe to a grounded AC110V, 50/60Hz power outlet. The machine is equipped with a brushless motor.
- Verify that the power supply matches the machine's requirements to prevent electrical damage.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, ensure the emergency stop button is disengaged (pulled out) and flip the main power switch to "ON". The display panel should illuminate.
- To power off, flip the main power switch to "OFF". In an emergency, press the red emergency stop button.
5.2 Spindle Speed Adjustment
The RC-210E features infinitely variable spindle speeds, divided into two main gears:
- Low Gear: 50-1250 rpm
- High Gear: 1250-2500 rpm
Use the speed adjustment knob on the control panel to select the desired speed within the chosen gear. The current spindle speed will be displayed in real-time on the panel.
5.3 Thread Standard Selection
The lathe supports metric, imperial, and customized thread standards. Switching between these standards is done electronically via the control panel, eliminating the need for manual gear changes.
- Refer to the control panel (Figure 3.2.2) for buttons related to thread standard selection (e.g., "SET-SAVE", "FN", "DIR", "RUN").
- Follow the on-screen prompts to select the appropriate thread standard for your operation.
5.4 Automatic Feed Operation
The self-acting feed mechanism enhances machining accuracy and efficiency. The feed speed can be adjusted through the control panel.
- Engage the automatic feed lever.
- Use the control panel to set the desired feed rate (range: 0.01mm-0.4mm).
- Monitor the cutting process and adjust the feed rate as necessary.
5.5 Basic Turning Operations
The RC-210E is capable of various turning operations:
- Cylindrical Turning: For reducing the diameter of a workpiece.
- Facing: For creating a flat surface on the end of a workpiece.
- Taper Turning: For creating conical shapes.
- Threading: For cutting internal or external threads.
- Drilling: Using the tailstock to drill holes along the workpiece axis.
Always ensure the workpiece is securely mounted and the cutting tool is properly sharpened and positioned before beginning any operation.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your BREVELTION RC-210E lathe. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Cleaning
- After each use, clean all chips and debris from the lathe bed, chuck, tool post, and other surfaces. Use a brush or shop vacuum; never use compressed air as it can embed chips into moving parts.
- Wipe down all exposed metal surfaces with a clean cloth.
6.2 Lubrication
- Regularly apply a thin film of machine oil to the lathe bed ways, lead screw, cross slide, and tailstock quill to ensure smooth movement and prevent rust.
- Check and lubricate any other moving parts as indicated in the machine's design.
6.3 General Inspection
- Periodically check all nuts, bolts, and fasteners for tightness. Tighten any loose components.
- Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage or wear. Replace if necessary.
