To ensure accurate date and time stamps on your recordings, you may need to create a 'settings.txt' file on the Micro SD card. This is a common procedure for this type of device.

  1. Insert the Micro SD card into the included card reader and connect it to your computer.
  2. Create a new text file named settings.txt in the root directory of the Micro SD card.
  3. Open settings.txt and enter the current date and time in the format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS (e.g., 2025-10-06 21:00:00). You may also include a 'Y' or 'N' at the end to enable/disable the timestamp display on videos.
  4. Save the file and safely eject the Micro SD card from your computer.
  5. Insert the Micro SD card back into the camera and power it on. The camera will read the settings and update its internal clock. The settings.txt file will then be automatically deleted.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to about 50% every few months.
  • Data Backup: Regularly back up important recordings to your computer or another storage device.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Camera not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again. If the issue persists, try resetting the device using a pin in the reset hole.
  • Cannot record: Check if a Micro SD card is inserted correctly and if it has sufficient free space. Format the card if necessary (this will erase all data).
  • Blurry video: Ensure the lens is clean. Avoid recording in very low light without night vision enabled, or in conditions with excessive vibration, as the camera does not have built-in image stabilization.
  • Incorrect date/time stamp: Follow the instructions in Section 3.3 to set the time stamp using the 'settings.txt' file.
  • Difficulty reviewing recordings: Ensure the camera or card reader is properly connected to the computer and recognized as a removable disk. Try a different USB port or computer.
  • Camera unresponsive: Use a thin pin to press the reset button located on the camera body. This will restart the device without erasing data.
