3. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wash all removable parts (jars, lids, blades, attachments) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the main motor unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Placement: Place the main motor unit on a stable, flat, and dry surface. The anti-skid base ensures stability during operation.
  4. Assemble: Attach the desired jar or food processor bowl to the main unit. Align the jar/bowl with the motor coupling and twist clockwise until it locks securely into place. Ensure the lid is properly fitted and locked onto the jar/bowl before proceeding.

4. Operating Instructions

The Butterfly Elektra Food Processor is equipped with a powerful 750 Watts motor and 4-speed settings, featuring FPSS (Food Processor Selective Speed) Technology for precise control over various tasks.

General Operation:

  1. Ensure the appliance is properly assembled with the desired jar/bowl and attachment.
  2. Add ingredients to the jar/bowl. Do not overfill.
  3. Secure the lid firmly.
  4. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  5. Turn the speed dial to select the desired speed (1-4). The LED indicator light will illuminate when the unit is in action.
  6. For quick bursts of power, use the pulse function.
  7. After use, turn the dial to '0' and unplug the appliance.

Specific Tasks:

  • Grinding/Liquidizing: Use the Mixer Mate, Grinding, or Liquidizing Jars for wet or dry grinding, blending, and making shakes.
  • Food Processing (Chopping, Slicing, Grating, Kneading): Utilize the Food Processor Bowl with the relevant attachment (e.g., Atta Kneader for dough, Whisker for whipping, Vegetable Chopper for chopping, various blades for slicing and grating).
  • Juicing: Use the Juicer Jar for extracting juice from fruits and vegetables, or the Citrus Juicer attachment for citrus fruits.

5. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your food processor.

  • Cleaning the Main Unit: Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Wipe the main motor unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Cleaning Jars and Attachments: The jars and most attachments are dishwasher safe. For manual cleaning, wash them with warm, soapy water immediately after use to prevent food residue from drying. Use a brush for hard-to-reach areas. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing.
  • Blade Care: Handle blades with extreme caution as they are sharp. Store them safely when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your food processor, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Appliance Not Turning On:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Verify that the jar or food processor bowl is correctly assembled and locked onto the main unit. The appliance has a safety interlock mechanism.
  • Motor Stops During Operation (Overload Protection):
    • The food processor is equipped with Overload Protection (OLP) and a Trip Indicator to prevent motor damage. If the motor stops, it may be overloaded or overheated.
    • Turn the speed dial to '0' and unplug the appliance.
    • Remove some ingredients if the jar is overfilled, or allow the motor to cool down for approximately 15-20 minutes.
    • Plug the appliance back in and restart.
  • Unusual Noise or Vibration:
    • Ensure the jar/bowl and lid are properly secured.
    • Check that the blades or attachments are correctly installed.
    • Ensure the appliance is on a stable, flat surface.
