5. Maintenance
5.1. Emptying the Dirt Cup
For optimal performance, empty the XL easy-empty dirt cup regularly, especially when debris reaches the "Max Fill" line.
- Ensure the vacuum is turned off and the battery is removed.
- Locate the release button for the dirt cup, usually near the nozzle.
- Press the release button and carefully detach the dirt cup from the main unit.
- Position the dirt cup over a trash receptacle and open the bottom flap to release the contents.
- Close the flap and reattach the dirt cup to the vacuum until it clicks securely.
5.2. Cleaning the Filter
The rinsable filter should be cleaned periodically to maintain suction power. A clogged filter can significantly reduce performance.
- With the dirt cup detached, carefully remove the filter assembly.
- Tap the filter gently over a trash can to remove loose dust and debris.
- Rinse the filter under cool, running water until the water runs clear. Do not use detergent.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting it into the vacuum. Ensure it is completely dry to prevent damage to the motor.
- Reassemble the filter into the dirt cup and reattach the dirt cup to the vacuum.
