Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

2. Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Insert the BP-820 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack into the battery compartment on the rear of the camcorder until it clicks into place.
  2. Connect the Canon PD-E1 USB Power Adapter to the camcorder and a power outlet to charge the battery. The charging indicator will illuminate.
  3. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

3. Memory Card Insertion

The XA60 features dual SD card slots.

  1. Locate the SD card slots, typically on the side or rear of the camcorder.
  2. Insert the 64GB SD memory cards into the slots with the label facing the correct direction until they click.
  3. To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.

4. Attaching Accessories

  • Handle Unit: Attach the handle unit to the top of the camcorder by aligning the mounting points and securing it with the locking mechanism. This provides additional audio inputs (XLR) and controls.
