- Prepare the Boiler:
- Place the stainless steel plate at the bottom of the boiler.
- Insert the gauze bag into the boiler, ensuring it covers the bottom plate.
- Install Air Evacuation Valve and Thermometer:
- Install the air evacuation valve onto the designated port on the boiler lid. Ensure it is securely fixed.
- Install the thermometer onto the designated port on the boiler lid. Ensure it is securely fixed.
- Place the lid onto the boiler and secure it with the provided lock clips. Ensure a tight seal.
- Assemble the Distillation Column:
- Connect the 2-inch crystal distillation column to the top of the boiler lid using the appropriate clamps and gaskets. Tighten securely.
- Attach the condenser to the top of the crystal column, securing it with clamps and gaskets.
- Connect the wine outlet spout to the bottom of the condenser.
- Connect Water Pipes:
- Connect the blue water inlet pipe to the lower port of the condenser.
- Connect the red water outlet pipe to the upper port of the condenser.
- Connect the other end of the blue inlet pipe to a cold water source (e.g., a faucet).

5. Operating Instructions
This section outlines the general procedure for operating your YUEWO Alcohol Still. Specific recipes and fermentation processes are beyond the scope of this manual.
- Prepare the Wash:
- Ensure your fermented wash (e.g., fruit wine, grain mash) is ready for distillation.
- Pour the wash into the boiler, ensuring it does not exceed 70-80% of the boiler's capacity to prevent boil-over.
- Heat the Boiler:
- Place the assembled still on a suitable heat source (gas stove, electric ceramic heater, firewood, coal stove).
- Begin heating the boiler. Monitor the thermometer on the lid.
- Start Cooling Water Flow:
- Once the temperature approaches the boiling point of alcohol (around 78°C or 173°F), turn on the cold water supply to the condenser. Maintain a steady flow to ensure efficient condensation.
- Collect Distillate:
- As the vapor rises through the crystal column and condenses in the condenser, the distillate will begin to flow from the wine outlet spout.
- Collect the distillate in a suitable container.
- The crystal column allows for visual observation of the distillation process, ensuring quality control.
- Monitor Temperature:
- Continuously monitor the temperature. Different compounds distill at different temperatures.
- The 4-layer pure copper inner core helps to remove harmful substances like methanol and fusel oil, improving the quality and taste of the final product.
- End Distillation:
- Stop heating when the desired amount or quality of distillate is collected, or when the temperature rises significantly, indicating mostly water is left.
- Turn off the heat source and the cooling water supply.
- Allow the still to cool down completely before proceeding to cleaning.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your YUEWO Alcohol Still and ensure consistent performance.
- Disassembly:
- Ensure the still is completely cool before disassembling.
- Carefully unclip the lid and remove the column and condenser assembly.
- Disassemble the column and condenser into individual components for thorough cleaning.
- Cleaning Components:
- Wash all stainless steel and glass components with warm, soapy water. Use a soft brush or sponge to remove any residue.
- For stubborn deposits, a mild acidic solution (e.g., diluted vinegar) can be used, followed by a thorough rinse.
- Pay special attention to the copper bubble plates in the crystal column to ensure they are free of buildup.
- Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water to remove all soap or cleaning solution residue.
- Inspect Seals and Gaskets:
- Inspect all silicone sealing rings and gaskets for wear, cracks, or damage. Replace if necessary to maintain a tight seal.
- Drying and Storage:
- Allow all components to air dry completely before reassembly or storage.
- Store the still in a clean, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter during operation.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No distillate flow | Insufficient heat; no cooling water; air leak. | Increase heat; ensure cooling water is flowing; check all connections for leaks and tighten clamps. |
| Low alcohol content in distillate | Wash is too weak; distillation temperature too high; insufficient reflux. | Ensure proper fermentation of wash; maintain optimal distillation temperature (around 78-85°C); ensure crystal column is functioning correctly. |
| Leaking connections | Loose clamps; damaged gaskets. | Tighten all clamps securely; inspect and replace any damaged silicone gaskets. |
| Unpleasant odor/taste in distillate | Improper cuts (foreshots/heads, tails); insufficient copper contact; dirty equipment. | Ensure proper separation of foreshots and tails; verify copper bubble plates are clean and correctly installed; thoroughly clean all equipment before use. |
| Thermometer not working | Improper installation; faulty unit. | Check installation; if still not working, contact customer support for replacement. |
