5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Common Issues and Solutions
- Computer Not Recognizing Device:
Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the scanner and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable. Make sure the scanner is powered on and the 'USB MSDC' option is selected in its menu. If using Windows, ensure necessary drivers are installed (often automatically, but check manufacturer's website if issues persist). - Scanned Images Appear as Negatives or Incorrect Colors:
This is typically due to an incorrect film type selection. Navigate to the scanner's menu and ensure you have selected the appropriate option for your film (e.g., '135 Negative' for negative film, '135 Slide' for positive slides). Also, check the exposure (EV) and color balance settings. - Unable to Access Menu or Device is Frozen:
Try restarting the scanner by powering it off and on. If the issue persists, disconnect the power cable, wait a few seconds, and reconnect. Ensure no film is jammed in the slot. - Cannot Save or Transfer Photos:
Verify that an SD card is properly inserted and has sufficient free space. If transferring via USB, ensure the 'USB MSDC' mode is active and your computer recognizes the device as a storage drive.
