1. Important Safety Instructions

3. Setup and Assembly

Before initial use, ensure all components are present and undamaged. Position the sander on a stable, level workbench.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the sander and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Placement: Place the sander on a sturdy workbench. The iron base provides stability and reduces vibration.
  3. Work Table Installation: Attach the 0-45° aluminum work table to the disc sander as shown in the diagram. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to a suitable 230V AC power outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

The VZ-DS-500 offers both belt and disc sanding functionalities. Always ensure the workpiece is securely held and your hands are clear of the sanding surfaces.

4.1. General Operation

  • Power On/Off: Use the safety switch located on the front of the machine to turn the sander on or off.
  • Speed: The sander operates at a single speed of 2980 RPM.

4.2. Belt Sanding

  • Angle Adjustment: The belt sander can be tilted from a horizontal to a vertical position to suit different project requirements. Loosen the adjustment knob, set the desired angle, and tighten the knob securely.
  • Workpiece Handling: Apply gentle, even pressure when sanding. Move the workpiece consistently across the belt to ensure uniform material removal and prevent gouging.

4.3. Disc Sanding

  • Work Table Adjustment: The aluminum work table can be adjusted from 0 to 45 degrees. Use the miter gauge for accurate angle sanding.
  • Workpiece Handling: Always sand on the downward-rotating side of the disc to prevent the workpiece from being thrown upwards. Use the work table to support the workpiece.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your sander. Always disconnect the power before performing any maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean dust and debris from the machine, especially around the motor and sanding surfaces. Use the integrated dust collection ports for a dust-free operation.
  • Belt Replacement: To replace the sanding belt, use the quick sanding belt release lever. Slide off the old belt and install a new one, ensuring it is centered. Adjust belt tracking using the knob if necessary.
  • Disc Replacement: Replace worn sanding discs as needed. Ensure the new disc is properly adhered and centered on the disc plate.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord, switch, and all moving parts for wear or damage.
