2. Important Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your FKTUV Child Safety Cabinet Lock:

  1. Clean the Surface: Thoroughly wipe the desired installation area with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust, grease, or moisture.
  2. Prepare Adhesive: Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pads on both parts of the lock.
  3. Align and Press: Carefully align each lock part to the desired position on your cabinet, refrigerator, or drawer. Press firmly for at least 30 seconds to ensure strong adhesion.
  4. Allow to Cure: For maximum strength, allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before actively using the lock.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Setting the Combination

The initial password for the FKTUV Child Safety Cabinet Lock is 000. To change the password, follow these steps:

  1. Adjust to Initial Password: Set the lock to the initial password (000) or your current set password.
  2. Open the Lock: Press and hold the switch to open the lock.
  3. Hold Regulator: While holding the switch, use a small tool (e.g., a pen tip) to hold the regulator in the password adjustment interface. Do not loosen it.
  4. Change New Password: While the regulator is held, change the numbers to your desired new 3-digit combination. Be sure to remember your new password.
  5. Release Regulator: Release the tool from the regulator.
  6. Insert Latch and Scramble: Insert the cable latch back into the lock mechanism. Then, disrupt the numbers to lock the device with your new combination.

5.2. Locking and Unlocking

  • To Lock: Ensure the steel wire rope is securely inserted into the lock mechanism. Scramble the numbers on the combination dials to secure the lock.
  • To Unlock: Dial your set 3-digit combination. Press the release button/switch to disengage the steel wire rope.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the lock and adhesive surfaces with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the material or adhesive.
  • Adhesive Check: Periodically check the adhesive pads to ensure they remain firmly attached. If the adhesive begins to peel, clean the surface and reapply with new adhesive pads if necessary (not included).
  • Functionality Check: Test the locking and unlocking mechanism regularly to ensure smooth operation.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Adhesive Not Sticking: Ensure the surface was thoroughly cleaned and dried before application. Allow the full 24-hour curing time. For best results, apply to smooth, non-porous surfaces.
  • Cable Not Locking: Verify that the combination is correctly set and the cable end is fully inserted into the lock mechanism before scrambling the numbers.
  • Forgot Combination: If the combination is forgotten, the lock cannot be opened without the correct code. There is no master key or reset function for a forgotten combination. The lock may need to be removed, potentially causing damage to the surface.
