Setup

Follow these steps to set up your PIEZANO Pizza Oven for first use:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials from the oven and its accessories.
  2. Placement: Place the pizza oven on a stable, heat-resistant, and level countertop surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance (at least 6 inches) from walls and other appliances to allow for proper ventilation. The base suction cups will help secure the oven in place.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the oven with a damp cloth. The ceramic pizza stone should not be washed with soap; simply wipe it clean with a dry cloth or brush off any debris.
  4. First Use Burn-Off: Before cooking food, operate the oven empty for approximately 15-20 minutes at its maximum temperature setting (800°F) to burn off any manufacturing residues. This may produce a slight odor or smoke, which is normal. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during this process.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the 3-prong power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Preheating the Oven:

  1. Ensure the oven is plugged into a grounded outlet.
  2. Turn the top and bottom temperature control knobs to your desired settings. For most pizzas, setting both to maximum (800°F) is recommended for preheating.
  3. Allow the oven to preheat for approximately 10-15 minutes, or until the built-in thermometer reaches the desired temperature. The indicator light will illuminate during heating.
  4. For optimal results, allow the ceramic stone to heat thoroughly for an additional 5-10 minutes after the oven reaches temperature.

Cooking a Pizza:

  1. Prepare your pizza on a lightly floured wooden pizza paddle. Ensure the pizza is not overloaded with toppings, especially if they are tall, to prevent contact with the top heating element.
  2. Once the oven is fully preheated, carefully open the oven door.
  3. Using the wooden pizza paddle, slide the pizza onto the hot ceramic stone. Close the oven door immediately.
  4. Monitor the pizza through the viewing window. Cooking times can vary but typically range from 4-6 minutes for a fresh pizza. Frozen pizzas may take longer.
  5. Adjust the top and bottom heat controls as needed during cooking to achieve your preferred crust crispness and topping doneness. For example, you might lower the top heat slightly if toppings are browning too quickly.
  6. When the pizza is cooked to your liking, carefully open the oven door and use the wooden pizza paddle to remove the pizza from the stone.
  7. Close the oven door to maintain heat for subsequent pizzas or turn off the oven if you are finished.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your PIEZANO Pizza Oven.

  1. Cool Down: Always allow the oven to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
  3. Ceramic Pizza Stone: The ceramic stone is removable for cleaning. After it has cooled, use the included pizza scraper or a stiff brush to remove any baked-on food residue. Do not use soap or detergents on the stone, as it is porous and can absorb chemicals, affecting the taste of future pizzas. The stone will naturally darken and season over time, which is normal and enhances its non-stick properties.
  4. Wooden Pizza Paddles: Hand wash the wooden paddles with mild soap and water, then dry immediately. Do not soak or wash in a dishwasher, as this can cause warping or cracking.
  5. Storage: Store the oven in a cool, dry place when not in use.
