4. Operating Instructions

Once the USB flash drive is recognized by your computer, you can begin transferring files.

  • Transferring Files: To copy files to the drive, simply drag and drop them into the drive's folder, or use the copy-paste function. To copy files from the drive, drag and drop them to your desired location on your computer.
  • Safe Removal: Always safely eject the USB drive before physically removing it from your computer. This prevents data corruption. On Windows, right-click the drive icon in the taskbar and select "Eject". On Mac, drag the drive icon to the Trash or click the Eject button next to the drive in Finder.
  • File System: The drive comes pre-formatted with FAT32, which is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS for read/write operations. If you require specific features or need to store very large individual files (over 4GB), you may consider reformatting to NTFS (Windows-compatible) or exFAT (cross-platform compatible for large files). Please note that NTFS is semi-compatible with Mac OS.

5. Maintenance

  • Physical Care: Avoid exposing the drive to extreme temperatures, moisture, or strong magnetic fields. Do not drop or apply excessive force to the drive.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the drive. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Data Backup: While the drive is reliable, it is always recommended to back up important data to multiple locations to prevent accidental loss.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Lower Actual Capacity: The actual available storage capacity may be slightly less than the advertised 128GB. This is normal for flash storage devices, as some capacity is used for formatting and other essential functions by the operating system. (e.g., 1GB = 1024MB).
  • Drive Not Recognized: Ensure the drive is fully inserted into the USB port. Try a different USB port or another computer to rule out port issues.
  • Slow Transfer Speeds: Ensure you are using a USB 2.0 compatible port for optimal speeds. Transfer speeds can vary based on file size, type, and system performance.
  • Formatting Issues: If you need to reformat the drive, use your operating system's disk utility tool. Be aware that reformatting will erase all data on the drive.
