4. Setup and Installation
Important Safety Notice:
The installation of these stair lights involves drilling holes and working with electrical components. It is strongly recommended that this process be carried out under the guidance of a qualified professional to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations. Ensure an electrical outlet is available near the stairway to power the lights.
4.1 Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before beginning installation:

Figure 4.1: Included components for the Ameistor Stair Light system.
- Light Strips (16 pieces for 16-stair model)
- Remote Control
- Controller
- Power Adapter
- Brightness Sensor
- Motion Sensors (2 pieces)
- Light Strip Power Supply Wire
- Nano Double-Sided Adhesive
- Cable Clips
- Mounting Clips

4.2 Installation Steps
- Plan Placement: Determine the exact location for each light bar, motion sensor, and the main controller. Each light bar is numbered; follow this numbering during installation to ensure proper functionality and light sequencing.
- Mount Light Bars:
- Drilling Method (Recessed): For a flush finish, drill appropriate holes under the nose of each stair tread. Secure the light bars using the provided mounting clips and screws.
- Adhesive Method: Alternatively, use the nano double-sided adhesive to attach the light bars directly to the desired surface. Ensure the surface is clean and dry for optimal adhesion.

Figure 4.2: Installation methods for light bars and sensor placement.
- Install Motion Sensors: Position the two motion sensors at the top and bottom of the staircase. Ensure they have a clear line of sight for optimal motion detection.
- Connect Wiring:
- Connect each numbered light strip to the corresponding output on the controller.
- Connect the motion sensors and brightness sensor to the designated input ports on the controller.
- Connect the power adapter to the controller and then to a suitable electrical outlet.

- Secure Cables: Use cable clips to neatly secure all wiring, preventing tripping hazards and maintaining a clean appearance.
- Test System: Once all connections are made, plug in the power adapter and test the system using the remote control.
5. Operation
The Ameistor Intelligent Motion Sensor Stair Lights are operated primarily using the included wireless remote control. The system features automatic motion detection and various customizable settings.
5.1 Remote Control Functions

Figure 5.1: Wireless Remote Control Layout and Functions.
- Power Button: Turns the lights ON/OFF.
- Brightness +/-: Adjusts the light intensity (10%-100%).
- Color Temperature K+/-: Changes the light color from 3000K (warm) to 6000K (cool).
- Mode Selection:
- All Light Mode: All lights illuminate simultaneously.
- Cascading Mode: Lights illuminate sequentially.
- Fade Mode: Lights fade in/out.
- Follow Mode: Lights follow motion.
- Loop Mode: Lights cycle through patterns.
- Delay Timer (5s/10s/30s): Sets the duration lights remain on after motion detection ceases.
- Steps +/-: Adjusts the number of active stair lights (if applicable).
- Speed +/-: Adjusts the speed of dynamic lighting modes.
- Sensor Modes:
- All Day Mode: Motion sensors are active regardless of ambient light.
- Dusk Mode: Motion sensors activate only when ambient light is low (evening).
- Night Mode: Similar to Dusk Mode, optimized for very low light conditions.
5.2 Motion Sensor Functionality
The dual PIR motion sensors detect movement, triggering the lights. The integrated light sensor allows for intelligent operation based on ambient light levels.

Figure 5.2: Motion sensor operation modes.
- When set to "Dusk Mode" or "Night Mode", the lights will only activate via motion detection if the ambient light is below a certain threshold.
- In "All Day Mode", motion detection will trigger the lights regardless of ambient light.
5.3 Adjusting Light Settings
Use the remote control to customize your lighting experience:

Figure 5.3: Adjustable color temperature and dimming capabilities.
- Press Brightness +/- to achieve the desired light intensity.
- Press Color Temperature K+/- to select between warm (3000K), neutral (4500K), or cool (6000K) white light.
- Select a preferred lighting mode (e.g., Cascading, Fade) to match your ambiance.
6. Maintenance
The Ameistor Intelligent Motion Sensor Stair Lights require minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure longevity and optimal performance:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the light bars and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or electronic components.
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections and wiring for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure light bars are securely mounted.
- Sensor Performance: Keep motion sensors clear of obstructions to ensure accurate detection. Dust or debris can affect their sensitivity.
- Power: Ensure the power adapter is connected to a stable power source.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Ameistor Intelligent Motion Sensor Stair Lights, refer to the following troubleshooting guide:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lights do not turn on. | No power; loose connection; faulty sensor; remote battery dead. | Check power adapter connection. Ensure all wires are securely connected to the controller and light bars. Replace remote control batteries. Verify motion sensors are unobstructed. |
| Lights stay on continuously or turn on randomly. | Sensor obstruction; incorrect sensor mode; faulty sensor. | Ensure motion sensors are not obstructed by objects or dust. Check remote settings for "All Day Mode" and switch to "Dusk Mode" or "Night Mode" if desired. |
| Lights do not illuminate in sequential order. | Incorrect wiring of light bars. | Verify that each numbered light bar is connected to the corresponding numbered output on the controller. Refer to the wiring diagram in Section 4.2. |
| Remote control is unresponsive. | Dead batteries; remote out of range; signal obstruction. | Replace batteries in the remote control. Ensure you are within effective range of the controller. Remove any obstructions between the remote and the controller. |
| Lights flicker or dim unexpectedly. | Loose connection; power supply issue; faulty light bar. | Check all wiring connections. Ensure the power adapter is functioning correctly and providing stable power. If a single light bar is affected, it may require replacement. |
