5. Maintenance and Replacement Schedule
Regular cleaning and timely replacement of these parts are crucial for maintaining your robot vacuum's performance and longevity.
5.1. Cleaning Instructions
- Main Brush: Remove the main brush periodically (e.g., weekly) and use the cleaning tool (often provided with the vacuum) to cut and remove tangled hair and debris.
- Side Brushes: Check side brushes regularly for tangled hair or bent bristles. Remove any obstructions. If bristles are severely bent, they may need replacement.
- Filters: Tap the filter gently over a trash can to remove accumulated dust and debris. Do not wash the filters with water, as this can damage the filter material and reduce its effectiveness.
5.2. Recommended Replacement Schedule
The actual replacement frequency may vary based on usage and environment (e.g., presence of pets, carpeted areas). The following are general guidelines:
- Main Brush: Every 6-12 months
- Side Brushes: Every 3-6 months
- Filters: Every 2-3 months
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues after installing the new parts, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Reduced Cleaning Performance:
- Ensure the main brush is free of tangles and debris.
- Check if the filter is clogged and clean or replace it if necessary.
- Verify that all parts are installed correctly and securely.
- Side Brushes Not Rotating or Tangled:
- Remove any hair or debris tangled around the side brushes.
- Ensure the side brushes are securely screwed into place.
