  • Electrical Safety: The machine is equipped with a built-in Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) to protect the operator from electric shock. Always ensure the GFCI is functioning correctly before use.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear the provided gloves and appropriate eye protection when operating the drain cleaner to protect against debris and rotating cable.
  • Cable Handling: Never touch the rotating cable. Keep hands and loose clothing away from the cable and drum.
  • Stable Surface: Operate the machine on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.
  • Proper Use: Use the machine only for its intended purpose of clearing drain blockages. Do not use it for any other application.

2.3 Attaching Cutters

  1. Select the appropriate cutter head for the type of blockage you are addressing. Refer to Section 3.2 for guidance on cutter selection.
  2. Ensure the machine is unplugged from the power source.
  3. Insert the end of the cable into the chosen cutter head and secure it firmly. Ensure it is properly locked to prevent detachment during operation.

3. Operation

  1. Positioning: Place the machine as close as possible to the drain opening.
  2. Power Connection: Plug the GFCI plug into a suitable electrical outlet. Press the reset button on the GFCI if necessary.
  3. Cable Insertion: Manually feed the cable into the drain opening until it meets resistance, indicating the blockage.
  4. Motor Activation: Step on the air-activated foot switch to start the motor. The cable will begin to rotate.
  5. Feeding the Cable: As the cable rotates, gently push it further into the drain. Do not force the cable. Allow the rotating action to work through the blockage.
  6. Changing Direction: Use the rocker switch on the machine to change the direction of the cable's rotation (forward or reverse) as needed to dislodge stubborn blockages or retrieve the cable.
  7. Clearing the Blockage: Continue feeding and retracting the cable, allowing the cutter head to break up or retrieve the obstruction. You will feel less resistance once the blockage is cleared.
  8. Retracting the Cable: Once the drain is clear, slowly retract the cable by reversing the motor direction and guiding the cable back into the drum.
  9. Power Off: Release the foot switch and unplug the machine from the power source.
