  2. Install the Latch: Insert the adjustable latch into the door edge, ensuring it is oriented correctly for your door's swing.
  3. Assemble the Lock: Attach the front and rear keypad units, feeding the spindle through the latch mechanism. Secure with the appropriate screws and hollow studs.
  4. Adjust Handles: If necessary, adjust the handle direction by unscrewing the handle, rotating it to the desired orientation, and re-securing it.
  5. Test Operation: Before fully tightening all screws, test the lock's operation to ensure smooth engagement and disengagement of the latch.

Note: For detailed, step-by-step instructions, please refer to the included User Manual.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Setting and Changing the Password

The VEVOR Mechanical Keyless Entry Door Lock features an updated Gen2 setting that makes changing the password straightforward. The password can be entered in any order of the selected digits.

  1. Access the Mechanism: The password setting mechanism is located on the back of the keypad unit. You will need to partially disassemble the lock to access it.
  2. Set Combination: Use a small screwdriver to rotate the "dials" on the back of the lock. For the digits you wish to include in your password, ensure the "dot" points towards the number. For digits not in your password, ensure the "dot" points away.
  3. Test: After setting, reassemble the lock and test the combination before final installation or use.

Note: The password is not sequential; pressing the correct digits in any order will unlock the mechanism.

5.2 Auto-Lock and Normal Open Mode

Figure 6: Auto-Lock and Normal Open Mode
  • Auto-Lock: For enhanced security, the lock automatically secures when the door closes. This ensures that the door is always locked behind you.
  • Normal Open Mode: This upgraded feature allows the lock to remain unlocked for frequent entries without requiring a password. When activated, the lock functions as a standard door handle. This is particularly useful for high-traffic areas or for convenience with children or the elderly. Refer to the full manual for instructions on activating/deactivating this mode.

6. Maintenance

The VEVOR Mechanical Keyless Entry Door Lock is constructed from durable zinc alloy with a corrosion-resistant electroplated coating, designed to withstand various weather conditions.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the lock surface periodically with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Lubrication: While the mechanical components are designed for longevity, a light application of a silicone-based lubricant to the latch bolt and internal moving parts (if accessible) can ensure smooth operation over time. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the lock for any signs of wear, loose screws, or damage. Address any issues promptly to maintain optimal security and function.
