4. Setup and Connectivity

The Toad III mouse supports dual connectivity, allowing you to connect to two devices simultaneously.

4.1. 2.4 GHz Wireless Connection

  1. Take out the USB receiver from the compartment at the bottom of the mouse.
  2. Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer (PC, Laptop, Mac).
  3. Turn on the mouse using the Power Switch at the bottom.
  4. Press the Mode Switch Button once to select the 2.4 GHz mode. The indicator light will show red.
  5. The mouse will automatically connect to your device.

4.2. Bluetooth Connection

  1. Turn on the mouse using the Power Switch at the bottom.
  2. Press the Mode Switch Button once to select the Bluetooth mode. The indicator light will show blue.
  3. To enter pairing mode, press and hold the Mode Switch Button for 3-4 seconds until the blue light starts flashing.
  4. On your device (tablet, phone, laptop), go to Bluetooth settings and search for new devices.
  5. Select "Portronics Toad III" from the list of available devices to pair.
  6. Once paired, the blue indicator light on the mouse will stop flashing and remain solid.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Adjusting DPI Sensitivity

The DPI (Dots Per Inch) setting controls the sensitivity of your mouse cursor. The Toad III allows you to switch between multiple DPI levels for precise control.

To adjust the DPI, press the DPI Switch Button located below the scroll wheel. Each press will cycle through the available DPI settings (e.g., 800, 1000, 1200, 1600 DPI). Choose the setting that best suits your task, whether it's precise graphic design or fast-paced gaming.

5.2. Silent Clicks

6. Charging the Mouse

The Portronics Toad III mouse is equipped with a built-in rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery.

To charge the mouse, connect the provided USB Type-C charging cable to the charging port on the front of the mouse and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter). The indicator light will show charging status. A full charge can last for several weeks, depending on usage.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the mouse. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, turn off the mouse to conserve battery life. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • USB Receiver: Always store the USB receiver in its designated compartment at the bottom of the mouse when transporting to prevent loss.
