6. Operating Instructions

  1. Winding the Bobbin:
    • Place an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle.
    • Place a spool of thread onto the spool pin.
    • Guide the thread through the bobbin winder tension disk.
    • Wrap the thread around the bobbin a few times, then push the bobbin winder spindle to the right.
    • Turn on the machine (or press the foot pedal) to start winding. Stop when the bobbin is full.
    • Cut the thread and push the bobbin winder spindle back to the left.
  2. Inserting the Bottom Bobbin:
    • Open the bobbin cover located on the sewing bed.
    • Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise).
    • Pull the thread through the tension spring and out through the small opening.
    • Close the bobbin cover.
  3. Threading the Upper Thread:
    • Raise the presser foot using the presser foot lifter.
    • Place a spool of thread onto the spool pin.
    • Follow the numbered threading path indicated on the machine (usually 1-2-3-4-5). This involves guiding the thread through guides, around the tension dial, and through the take-up lever.
    • Thread the needle from front to back using the provided threader or manually.
    • Hold the upper thread and turn the hand wheel towards you to lower and raise the needle, catching the bobbin thread. Pull both threads to the back under the presser foot.
  4. Selecting a Stitch Pattern:

Turn the Pattern Selection Dial to choose one of the 12 available stitch patterns. Refer to the stitch pattern diagram on the machine for visual reference.

When finished, turn off the machine, raise the needle to its highest position, lift the presser foot, and pull the fabric out. Use the built-in thread cutter to snip the threads.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft brush to remove lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs after each use. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Needle Replacement: Replace the needle regularly, especially if it becomes bent, dull, or if you experience skipped stitches. Ensure the flat side of the needle faces the back when inserting.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the machine in a dry, dust-free environment, preferably in the provided dust-proof bag.
  • Lubrication: This machine is designed to be low-maintenance and typically does not require user lubrication. Refer to professional service if internal lubrication is suspected to be needed.
