Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery cover on the back of the device.
  2. Open the battery cover.
  3. Insert 4 x 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

Probe Connection

The device comes with an 800mm flexible hose probe. Ensure it is securely connected to the main unit before use.

Button Functions:

  • C/F Button: Press to toggle between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature units.
  • Backlight Button: Press to turn the display backlight on or off.
  • Play Button: Press to start the fluid test.
  • Power Button: Long press to turn the tester on or off.

Testing Procedure

  1. Prepare the Probe: Wipe the test probe clean before insertion to ensure accurate readings.
  2. Insert Probe: Submerge the testing probe into the transmission fluid reservoir. Ensure the probe tip is fully immersed in the fluid.
  3. Start Test: Press the Play button to initiate the test.
  4. View Results: The device interface will display the test results, including fluid transmittance percentage and temperature.

Interpreting Results

The display provides an analog bar graph and a percentage value for fluid transmittance. It also shows the fluid temperature and status indicators:

  • OK: Indicates good fluid transmittance.
  • Warning (Triangle icon): Suggests the fluid quality is deteriorating.
  • Replace (X icon): Indicates the fluid needs immediate replacement.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Probe

After each use, gently wipe the probe tip with a clean, soft cloth to remove any residual fluid. This prevents contamination and ensures accurate future readings.
