Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully to install your Thermalright Aqua Elite 360 White V3 Liquid CPU Cooler. Ensure your system is powered off and unplugged before beginning.

General Preparation

Unpack all components and familiarize yourself with the parts. Identify the appropriate mounting hardware for your CPU socket type (Intel or AMD).

Intel LGA1700 Installation

  1. Adjust Backplate: For LGA1700, adjust the backplate to use the outer holes. For LGA115X/1200, use the inner holes.Adjusting backplate for LGA1700

Image: A person adjusting the backplate to the outer holes, indicating the correct configuration for LGA1700 sockets.

  2. Install Backplate: Install the Intel backplate from the back side of the motherboard.
  3. Install Standoffs: Install the blue standoffs onto the screws from the front side of the motherboard.
  4. Attach Water Block Bracket: Align the arrow on the Intel bracket to the water block and rotate to lock it in place.
  5. Remove Protective Sticker: Carefully remove the protective sticker from the copper base of the water block.
  6. Apply Thermal Compound: Apply a pea-sized amount of thermal compound onto the CPU Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS).
  7. Mount Water Block: Align the mounting holes on the bracket to the standoffs and install the water block onto the CPU. Secure the metal bracket with the four nuts, tightening them in a diagonal pattern to ensure even pressure.

AMD AM5/AM4 Installation

  1. Attach Water Block Bracket: Align the arrow on the AMD bracket to the water block and rotate to lock it in place.
  2. Remove Protective Sticker: Carefully remove the protective sticker from the copper base of the water block.
  3. Apply Thermal Compound: Apply a pea-sized amount of thermal compound onto the CPU Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS).
  4. Mount Water Block: Use the buckles on the metal bracket to secure the water block onto the CPU. Tighten the screws on both sides to apply mounting pressure evenly.

Fan and ARGB Connections

  1. Connect Fan PWM Cables: Connect the fan PWM cables to the included fan splitter cable. This allows all fans to be controlled by a single motherboard header.
  2. Connect Fan ARGB Cables: Connect the fan ARGB cables to sync the lighting signal.
  3. Connect ARGB Lighting Cable: Connect the ARGB lighting cable to a 3-pin 5V ARGB socket on your motherboard. This enables motherboard software control of the lighting effects.
  4. Connect Pump Power Cable: Connect the pump power cable to the CPU_OPT or AIO PUMP socket on your motherboard.

Radiator Installation

  1. Install Radiator: Install the radiator onto your case using the provided short radiator screws. Ensure proper alignment with the mounting holes.
  2. Adjust Fan Exhaust: Adjust the fan exhaust side according to your case's airflow design for optimal cooling performance.

Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Thermalright Aqua Elite 360 White V3 Liquid CPU Cooler operates automatically based on your motherboard's settings. The fans and pump are controlled via PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) and ARGB (Addressable RGB) signals from your motherboard.

  • Fan Speed Control: The TL-C12W-S V2 fans are equipped with PWM functionality, allowing them to automatically adjust their speed based on CPU temperature. This provides optimal airflow while minimizing noise.
  • ARGB Lighting Control: The fan and water-cooling header ARGB lighting can be synchronized with your motherboard's 5V 3-pin ARGB header. Use your motherboard's lighting control software to customize the 16 million color soft light effects.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your liquid CPU cooler.

  • Dust Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from the radiator fins and fan blades using compressed air. Ensure the fans are not spinning during cleaning to prevent damage.
  • Inspect Tubing: Occasionally check the water tubes for any signs of leaks, kinks, or damage. The protective mesh water pipes are designed for durability and low evaporation.
  • Thermal Paste: While not frequently required, if you ever remove the water block, it is recommended to clean off old thermal paste and apply new thermal compound before reinstallation.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your liquid CPU cooler, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • No Power/Fans Not Spinning: Ensure all power cables (PWM for fans, pump power) are securely connected to the correct headers on the motherboard. Check your motherboard's BIOS settings to confirm fan and pump headers are enabled and configured correctly.
  • No ARGB Lighting: Verify the 3-pin 5V ARGB cable is correctly connected to the motherboard's ARGB header. Check your motherboard's lighting software for control and ensure it is up to date.
  • High CPU Temperatures: Double-check that the water block is securely mounted to the CPU with even pressure. Ensure thermal paste was applied correctly. Verify that the fans are spinning and oriented to push air through the radiator effectively. Check for any obstructions to airflow within your case.
  • Unusual Noises: If you hear gurgling or grinding noises, it might indicate air bubbles in the loop. Gently tilt your PC case in different directions while the system is running to help dislodge air bubbles. Ensure the pump is running at an adequate speed.
