4. Installation Instructions
Professional installation is recommended. Ensure water supply is turned off before beginning.
- Prepare the Installation Area: As this system requires a new valve, prepare the wall by removing existing tiles or shower walls to access plumbing.
- Install the Rough-in Valve: Secure the solid brass rough-in valve within the wall. Use plumber's tape to ensure secure connections between the valve and water pipes. No welding is required. The valve is equipped with 2 check valves to prevent noise and backflow.
- Connect Water Lines: Connect the hot and cold water lines to the designated NPT 1/2" connectors on the valve.
- Install Shower Arm and Rain Shower Head: Mount the 16-inch wall-mounted shower arm and attach the 12-inch rain shower head.
- Install Slide Bar and Handheld Shower: Secure the adjustable slide bar to the wall. Attach the 71-inch shower hose to the handheld shower head and connect it to the valve.
- Install Trim Kit: Once the valve and components are secured, install the decorative trim kit, including the handle and diverter buttons.
- Optional Flow Restrictor: The 1.8 GPM water-saving tablet is included separately. Install it if you desire a reduced water flow.
- Test for Leaks: Turn on the water supply and check all connections for leaks.

6. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your shower system.
- Cleaning the Finish: To maintain the brushed nickel finish, clean regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
- Cleaning Nozzles: The rain shower head features self-cleaning silicone nozzles. Periodically rub the nozzles to dislodge any mineral buildup and maintain consistent water flow.
- Hose Care: Inspect the 71-inch stainless steel shower hose periodically for any signs of wear or damage.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your shower system, refer to the following common solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low Water Pressure | Clogged nozzles or optional flow restrictor installed. | Rub silicone nozzles to clear debris. Check if the 1.8 GPM flow restrictor is installed and remove if higher flow is desired. |
| Water Hammer Noise | Sudden changes in water flow. | The pressure balance valve has built-in shut-off stops to mitigate water hammer. If noise persists, consult a plumber to check water pressure in your home. |
| Inconsistent Water Temperature | Pressure balance valve malfunction or external water supply issues. | The pressure balance valve cartridge monitors water pressure. If temperature fluctuations occur, ensure consistent hot and cold water supply to the valve. If issues persist, contact customer support. |
