4. Setup Guide

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor. Insert 2 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
  2. Indoor Display Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the indoor display unit. Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.

Note: It is recommended to insert batteries into the outdoor sensor first, then the indoor display unit, to facilitate immediate pairing.

4.2. Sensor Pairing

The indoor display unit and outdoor sensor should automatically pair within a few minutes after battery installation. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings will appear on the display. If pairing does not occur:

  • Ensure both units have fresh batteries.
  • Place the outdoor sensor and indoor display unit close to each other during the initial setup.
  • Press and hold the "CHANNEL" or "SYNC" button (if available, refer to specific button layout) on the indoor unit to initiate a manual search for the sensor.

4.3. Placement

  • Indoor Display Unit: Place the main unit in a central location indoors, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or drafts that could affect readings. It can be placed on a flat surface using its foldable bracket or mounted on a wall using the hanging ring.
  • Outdoor Sensor: Mount the outdoor sensor in a shaded area, protected from direct rain and sunlight, to ensure accurate temperature and humidity readings. Avoid placing it near metal objects or large electrical appliances that could interfere with wireless transmission. The maximum wireless transmission distance is approximately 330 feet (100 meters) in an open area.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Display Overview

The 4-inch LCD screen displays indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, weather forecast icons, and trend arrows.

5.2. Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)

Locate the °C/°F button, usually on the back or side of the indoor display unit. Press this button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.

5.3. Backlight Function

The display features a backlight for improved visibility in low-light conditions. Press the light bulb icon button (usually at the top of the unit) to activate the backlight. It will illuminate for approximately 10 seconds before automatically turning off to conserve battery power.

5.4. Weather Forecast

The weather station includes a built-in pressure sensor that analyzes atmospheric pressure changes to provide a 12-24 hour weather forecast. Icons such as sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, and snowy will be displayed to indicate predicted weather conditions.

5.5. Max/Min Records and Trend Arrows

The device records the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values over the past 24 hours. Trend arrows indicate whether the temperature and humidity are rising, falling, or remaining stable. Consult the specific button layout on your device for accessing these records (e.g., a "MAX/MIN" button).

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the display unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the indoor unit and outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
  • Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage.
