2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in fire, electric shock, serious injury, or property damage.

  • This appliance is for household use only. Do not use outdoors.
  • Ensure the voltage indicated on the appliance matches your local power supply before connecting. This kettle is designed for 120V US use only.
  • Always plug the kettle into a grounded outlet.
  • Do not immerse the kettle, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Keep the appliance out of reach of children. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

5. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Ensure all components listed in Section 3 are present.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water up to the maximum fill line. Boil the water (see Operating Instructions) and then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.
  3. Placement: Place the kettle on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface away from edges and out of reach of children.
  4. Power Connection: Locate the US plug inside the kettle. Connect the power cord to the kettle's hidden socket and then plug it into a standard 120V grounded electrical outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

The Touxila Travel Electric Kettle offers 4 preset temperature settings for various needs.

  1. Fill the Kettle: Open the lid and fill the kettle with fresh water. Do not exceed the 'MAX' fill line (approximately 400ml) to prevent overflow, and ensure it is above the 'MIN' line. Securely close the lid.
  2. Connect Power: Ensure the kettle is properly plugged into a 120V power outlet. The LCD screen will illuminate.
  3. Select Temperature: Press the power button (usually indicated by a power symbol) on the kettle's body. The LCD screen will display the current temperature. Repeatedly press the power button to cycle through the 4 preset temperatures:
    • 212°F (100°C): For boiling water, ideal for instant noodles, oatmeal, or black tea.
    • 176°F (80°C): Suitable for coffee or green tea.
    • 131°F (55°C): Ideal for warm tea.
    • 113°F (45°C): Perfect for warming milk.
  4. Start Heating: Once your desired temperature is selected, the kettle will begin heating automatically. The LCD screen will show the water's temperature as it rises.
  5. Automatic Shut-Off: The kettle will automatically turn off once the selected temperature is reached.
  6. Pouring: Carefully pour the hot water. Be mindful of steam and hot surfaces.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your kettle.

  • Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
  • Interior Cleaning: The 304 stainless steel inner pot is easy to clean. Rinse with water. For stubborn stains, use a soft brush or sponge.
  • Limescale Removal: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To remove limescale:
    1. Fill the kettle with a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) or water and lemon juice.
    2. Bring the solution to a boil and let it soak for 20-30 minutes.
    3. Discard the solution, then brush the interior with a soft brush or sponge and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
    4. Repeat if necessary.

8. Troubleshooting
