Assembly Instructions

Assembly typically requires 2-4 hours with 3 people. Follow these steps carefully for proper installation.

1. Unboxing and Part Identification

Carefully unbox all components. All parts are covered with protective film; please remove it before assembly. Identify each part using the labels and the included parts list.

2. Connecting Bases and Posts

Attach the base plates to the bottom of each vertical post using the provided screws. Ensure a secure connection.

3. Assembling Beams

Connect the horizontal beams. Do not fully tighten all screws until the entire frame is assembled to allow for minor adjustments.

4. Inserting Hooks into Curtain Track

Insert the curtain hooks into the designated tracks on the beams. This step is easier to complete before the beams are fully elevated.

5. Assembling the Frame

With assistance, raise the posts and connect them to the assembled beams to form the main pergola frame. Secure all connections, ensuring the frame is level and square.

8. Installing the Louvers

Carefully place each louver panel into its designated position on the roof frame. Ensure they are properly aligned and secured according to the detailed instructions in the separate assembly guide.

9. Installing Curtains and Mosquito Netting

Hang the curtains and mosquito netting onto the pre-installed hooks in the tracks. Ensure they can move freely.

10. Curtain Tiebacks

Utilize the integrated straps and tiebacks to secure the curtains and netting to the posts, preventing them from flying in strong winds.

11. Securing the Pergola

Use the included expansion screws to anchor the pergola bases to your chosen stable foundation (e.g., concrete patio). This is crucial for stability and safety.

Operating Instructions

Adjusting the Louvered Roof

The pergola features 4 independently controlled louvered roof sections. Use the durable crank handles and winding mechanisms to adjust the direction of the louvers. This allows you to transition between an open roof for sun exposure, a partially open roof for filtered light, or a fully closed roof for complete shade and rain protection.

When fully closed, the louvered roof provides a waterproof barrier, directing rainwater into the internal drainage system.

Using Curtains and Nets

The detachable curtains and nets offer protection against insects, rain, and provide privacy. They can be easily drawn open or closed along the tracks. Use the integrated straps to secure them to the posts when not in use or to prevent movement in windy conditions.

Maintenance

The MELLCOM Louvered Pergola is designed for low maintenance. Regular care will ensure its longevity and appearance.

  • Cleaning: Clean the aluminum frame and louvers with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
  • Fabric Care: Curtains and nets can be spot cleaned with mild soap and water. For deeper cleaning, follow specific care instructions provided with the fabric components. Ensure they are dry before storing or closing for extended periods to prevent mildew.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and connections to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten as necessary.
  • Drainage System: Ensure the concealed drainage channels within the legs are free from debris (leaves, dirt) to allow for efficient water evacuation.
