The controller is divided into several functional areas for intuitive operation:

  • Light Selection Area: Buttons 1-12 to select individual fixtures or groups.
  • Scene Switcher: Buttons 1-8 to activate programmed scenes.
  • Channel Selection Sliders: 8 sliders (1-8 and 9-16 via Page Button) to adjust DMX values for selected channels.
  • LED Display: Shows current bank, scene, and program information.
  • Page Selector Buttons: 'Page A' and 'Page B' to switch between channel banks (1-8 and 9-16).
  • Speed/Fade Selection Sliders: Adjust the speed and fade time of scenes and chases.
  • Function Selection Area: Buttons for Program, Midi/Add, Auto/Del, Music, Bank Copy, Tap Sync, Display, and Chase selection (Chase 1-6), along with a Blackout button.

Setup

  1. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cable to the Power Port on the rear of the DMX controller and then to a suitable power outlet (100-240V, 50/60Hz).
  2. DMX Device Connection: Use a 3-pin DMX cable to connect the DMX Output port of the controller to the DMX input of your first stage lighting fixture. Daisy-chain additional DMX fixtures by connecting the DMX output of one fixture to the DMX input of the next.
  3. Address Assignment: Ensure each DMX fixture has a unique DMX starting address. Refer to your fixture's manual for specific address setting instructions.
  4. Power On: Flip the ON/OFF switch on the rear panel to power on the controller. The LED display will illuminate.
  5. Signal Switch: Ensure the Signal Switch is in the correct position for DMX output.

Operating Instructions

Manual Control

  1. Select Fixtures: Press the 'SCANNER BUTTONS' (1-12) to select the fixture(s) you wish to control. The corresponding LED will light up.
  2. Adjust Channels: Use the 'CHANNEL SELECTION SLIDERS' (1-8) to adjust the DMX values for the selected fixture's channels. If your fixture uses more than 8 channels, use the 'PAGE SELECTOR' buttons (Page A/B) to access channels 9-16.
  3. Blackout: Press the 'BLACKOUT' button to instantly turn off all DMX output. Press it again to restore output.

Programming Scenes

A scene is a static lighting state. You can program up to 8 scenes per bank, with 23 banks available.

  1. Enter Program Mode: Press the 'PROGRAM' button. The LED display will show 'PROG'.
  2. Select Bank: Use the 'BANK UP/DOWN' buttons to select the desired bank (1-23) where you want to save your scene.
  3. Create Scene: Manually adjust the DMX channels using the sliders and fixture selection buttons to achieve your desired lighting state.
  4. Save Scene: Press the 'MIDI/ADD' button, then press one of the 'SCENE BUTTONS' (1-8) to save the current lighting state to that scene number within the selected bank. The LED display will flash to confirm.
  5. Exit Program Mode: Press the 'PROGRAM' button again to exit.

Programming Chases

A chase is a sequence of scenes played in order. You can program up to 6 chases, each containing up to 240 scenes.

  1. Enter Program Mode: Press the 'PROGRAM' button.
  2. Select Chase: Press one of the 'CHASE' buttons (1-6) to select the chase you want to program.
  3. Add Scenes to Chase: Recall a programmed scene (by selecting its bank and scene number). Press 'MIDI/ADD', then press the 'CHASE' button again to add the scene to the chase. Repeat for all desired scenes in the sequence.
  4. Set Speed/Fade: Adjust the 'SPEED' and 'FADE TIME' sliders to control the transition between scenes in the chase.
  5. Exit Program Mode: Press the 'PROGRAM' button again.

Playing Scenes and Chases

  • Play Scene: Select the desired bank using 'BANK UP/DOWN', then press the corresponding 'SCENE BUTTON' (1-8).
  • Play Chase: Press the 'AUTO/DEL' button to enter auto mode, then press the desired 'CHASE' button (1-6). The chase will begin playing.
  • Music Triggering: In auto mode, press the 'MUSIC' button to enable sound-activated mode. The built-in microphone will trigger scenes/chases based on audio input.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the surface of the controller with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
