WIPCOOL MG-1H Single Valve Manifold Gauge User Manual

Model: MG-1H

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of the WIPCOOL MG-1H Single Valve Manifold Gauge. This precision instrument is designed for measuring pressure in air conditioning and refrigeration systems, compatible with R22, R410A, and R32 refrigerants. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure proper usage and to prevent damage to the unit or injury.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves, when working with refrigerants. Refrigerants can cause frostbite and other injuries.

  • Do not exceed the maximum pressure rating of 800 PSI.
  • Ensure all connections are secure before pressurizing the system.
  • Avoid direct contact with refrigerants. In case of contact, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Do not expose the gauge to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Keep the device away from children.
  • Only use the gauge for its intended purpose as described in this manual.

3. Product Features

  • Single Valve Design: Simplifies operation for pressure measurement.
  • Wide Compatibility: Suitable for R22, R410A, and R32 refrigerants.
  • High Pressure Range: Measures pressure from -30inHg (vacuum) up to 800 PSI.
  • LED Lighting: Integrated LED for improved visibility in low-light conditions.
  • Shockproof Design: Enhanced durability for professional use.

5.1 Charging the LED Light

The MG-1H features an integrated LED light for improved visibility. To charge the internal battery:

  1. Locate the Type C charging port on the side of the gauge (refer to Figure 5.3).
  2. Connect a standard Type C USB cable to the port and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included).
  3. Allow the unit to charge until the charging indicator (if present) shows full charge.

5.2 Connecting to a System

The MG-1H is designed to connect to a single port of a refrigeration or air conditioning system.

  1. Ensure the system is depressurized or isolated before connecting the gauge.
  2. Connect the appropriate refrigerant hose (not included) to the threaded port at the bottom of the MG-1H gauge. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
  3. Connect the other end of the hose to the service port of the refrigeration system.
  4. Slowly open the system's service valve to allow refrigerant into the gauge.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Pressure Measurement

Once connected to the system, the gauge will display the current pressure. The MG-1H gauge features scales for R22, R410A, and R32 refrigerants, allowing direct reading of pressure and corresponding saturation temperatures.

  1. Ensure the gauge is properly connected as described in Section 5.2.
  2. Read the pressure directly from the gauge dial. The inner scales correspond to the saturation temperatures for the specified refrigerants.
  3. To activate the LED light for better visibility, press the designated button (if available, otherwise assume automatic or no button for simplicity).

6.2 Valve Operation

The single valve on the MG-1H controls the flow of refrigerant through the gauge. This valve is primarily used to isolate the gauge from the system or to control the flow during charging or evacuation procedures (when used with a manifold set).

  • Open: Turn the valve knob counter-clockwise to open the flow path.
  • Closed: Turn the valve knob clockwise to close the flow path.

Note: For complex operations like charging or evacuation, a full manifold set with multiple valves is typically used. The MG-1H is a single-valve gauge primarily for pressure monitoring.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your MG-1H gauge.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the gauge body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the gauge in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the original packaging or a protective case if available.
  • Battery Care: Recharge the LED light battery regularly, especially if the gauge will be stored for an extended period, to maintain battery health.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the gauge for any signs of damage, such as cracks in the casing or bent needles. Do not use a damaged gauge.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Gauge not showing pressureValve closed; improper connection; system depressurized.Ensure valve is open; check hose connections; verify system pressure.
LED light not workingBattery low or depleted.Recharge the gauge using the Type C port.
Inaccurate readingsGauge damaged; extreme temperature exposure; incorrect refrigerant scale used.Inspect gauge for damage; allow gauge to acclimate to ambient temperature; ensure correct refrigerant scale is being read. If issues persist, contact support.
