5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Dusk-to-Dawn Sensor
The FANDBO HS405 features a built-in photocell sensor that automatically controls the light fixture based on ambient light levels:
- The light will automatically turn ON when the ambient brightness is less than approximately 20 LUX (at dusk).
- The light will automatically turn OFF when the ambient brightness is more than approximately 100 LUX (at dawn).
This feature provides energy efficiency and convenience, eliminating the need for manual operation.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To maintain the appearance and performance of your fixture:
- Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before cleaning.
- Wipe the fixture with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or glass.
- The clear glass shade can be cleaned easily due to the open bottom design.

6.2 Bulb Replacement
The fixture uses a standard E26 base bulb. The open bottom design allows for easy bulb replacement without disassembling the fixture.
- Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker.
- Allow the old bulb to cool completely before touching.
- Unscrew the old bulb and screw in a new E26 base LED bulb (max 100W equivalent).
- Restore power.
6.3 GFCI Testing
Regularly test the GFCI outlet (monthly recommended) to ensure it is functioning correctly and providing protection. Follow the steps in Section 4.3.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on at night. | 1. Power is off. 2. Bulb is loose or faulty. 3. Dusk-to-dawn sensor is obstructed or faulty. 4. GFCI outlet tripped. | 1. Check circuit breaker. 2. Ensure bulb is screwed in tightly; replace if necessary. 3. Ensure sensor is clear of obstructions. Test in a dark environment. 4. Press the RESET button on the GFCI outlet. |
| GFCI outlet has no power or trips immediately. | 1. GFCI not reset after installation. 2. Overload or short circuit on the connected device. 3. Faulty GFCI outlet. 4. Wiring issue. | 1. Press the TEST button, then the RESET button. 2. Disconnect all devices from the GFCI. If it resets, test devices one by one. 3. If GFCI does not reset after testing, it may be faulty and require replacement by a qualified electrician. 4. Consult a qualified electrician to check wiring. |
| Light stays on during the day. | 1. Dusk-to-dawn sensor is obstructed or dirty. 2. Sensor is receiving insufficient light. | 1. Clean the sensor lens. Ensure no objects (e.g., leaves, eaves) are blocking light to the sensor. 2. Ensure the fixture is not installed in a location that is always shaded or near another light source that keeps the sensor activated. |
Important Note: Always test the GFCI outlet after installation and reset it regularly. A complete test consists of pressing the TEST button once and pressing the RESET button once. Otherwise, the porch light fixture might not turn on, and there will be no power output from the outlet.
